2025 'Bok Poker League Thread (7 Viewers)

Last night's first league game was a lot of fun! Even better for me, as I came first

We offered two types of chilli - vegan and an 11-hour smoked pulled pork (leftovers from xmas dinner), with tortillas.

I did a presentation to the 2024 league winners and losers:

* 1st place (me!) got their name on the trophy
* 2nd place got a decent bottle of wine
* 3rd place got some biscuits
* Last place got a wooden spoon, and an extra 5% of chips in every game they play this year.

New table, cards and shuffler (rubbish Temu one the wife got me for xmas) got revealed. Here are some pre-game pics.

Now I just need some better chips, with tournament values on them... need to get rid of those 1s and 5s at least...

Also stated (to much grumbling) that future winners won't be taking the trophy home... because I want to display it at each game. Do you guys think that's unreasonable?

Congrats on being out of the gate and off and running. You can pick up a bracelet or a ring very cheap online as the take home and the trophy with the winners name stays. Not unreasonable at all. If it were me, I'd mount the trophy on an oak base and add brass plates for each winner versus having it engraved or however else one might label it.

Sweet set up. I’ve thought about incorporating a trophy into my tournaments but I think guys would rather prize money lol.

I agree with @merkong. Customizing the trophy with nameplates or giving out customized Bracelets are a great idea. Our league uses all of those things. Check out @merkong 's thread or the Inner Circle Poker thread. Here in the states, I can get customized bracelets through Amazon for around $20. The players love showing off their coveted bracelets!
