Im trying to find a thread I came across a while back discussing the little bubbles you see on plastic chips where the injection took place.

Do the china clays have the same bubble under the sticker?

For some strange reason, i thought they were injected from the side...

No idea where i got that idea from,

One side of the chip will have a raised area in the middle of the inlay.

Ah thats right. Its basically injection molded under high pressure. What about Paulsons?

Anyone have a pic of a Milano or Majestic blank that shows the raised area? I cant see it on stock photos.

Ahh I saw that but thought it was part of the inlay design. Ok cool thanks. Its a pretty large area vs a tiny bubble.

Paulson must use some sort of die cutting no?

Since no material is injected into the mold at the time of compression, there is no need to lack of uniformity in the molding process. CCs have labels that are applied to the chip AFTER the molding process as opposed to traditional chips that have inlays that are pressed into the material at the time of molding.

It's a complex process but they're still edible. I don't much care for the Chinese version though, too spicy.
