Not sure if this is due to layoffs/cuts, or what, but I have 3 packages en route that are stuck in the "Moving Through Network" tracking wormhole and moving all over the country...

Weird...I have a shipment arriving tomorrow that left NYC on Thursday morning. Even faster than UPS usually manage...3 working days, about 87 days faster than normal!

I switched over to Fedex 2 Day One Rate because of this.

I typically use that for high-dollar-value packages. It is very reliable. Might need to start using it for everything. Cripes.
LOL yup. Somehow the package I sent from Iowa to New Jersey decided to take a spring break trip to Puerto Rico. I've seen plenty of packages fall off the radar for a while, but I've never seen a package sign up for a Caribbean Cruise.

I even use it to send samples out.
I was going to say "Hey send me to the Caribbean!" but honestly, I'd hate to end up in Jersey on accident or on purpose....

Seems like it may be occuring at scale. How does that even happen...? The vast majority of the operation is automated.
I read somewhere that a lot of the automated mail sorting equipment had been taken out of service 2-4 years ago, and there was a wave of... unnecessary?....human hiring.
Theft inside USPS has also EXPLODED.

I deal with usps at work all the time. I do think it is getting worse, and it’s been bad for a while.
