Jack casino’s being sold! (5 Viewers)

Has there ever been any threads that detail the bidding process? I would have bid 115k for those chips.... seriously... we should bid!

Anyone know who to contact?

So... Considering there was an auction for these chips, would it be safe to assume that the chips from the other JACK casinos is also/have also been auctioned off?

Are the other casinos (JACK cincinati/cleveland) still in business?
I believe they are.

Correct me (anyone) if I'm wrong, but I believe Dan Gilbert (Jack Entertainment) originally planned to rebrand Greektown to Jack Detroit, but for some reason that plan was scrapped and Jack ended up selling Greektown instead.

Gilbert bought Horseshoe Cleveland and Horseshoe Cincinnati and rebranded them Jack Cleveland and Jack Cincinnati. Some time later, he bought Greektown and announced it would be rebranded Jack Detroit. Since thar announcement, he has decided to divest himself of the casino business (speculation is to purchase a professional sports franchise other than basketball).

So he never took delivery of the Jack Detroit chips. They were recently auctioned off, apparently. Jack Cleveland and Jack Cincinnati are still operating (to my knowledge).

Greektown has not sold yet (again, to my knowledge) but I imagine he is looking for one buyer for all of his casinos. Once he sells, assuming Jack Cleveland and Jack Cincy are rebranded, hopefully more chips will come to the market.

From the reporting I read I get the vibes Gilbert expects economy to go into freefall, meaning most people won't be able to afford gambling anymore. If I got that correctly he's trying to get all his money out of gambling and instead invest into real estate now? Less money, but safer money for sure, even during bad economic times. People always gotta live somewhere. Very possible that Cinci/Cleveland will be sold at a later date as well.

He's a smart dude, he graduated from MSU, so that wouldn't surprise me.

Sucks for the country but great for chippers. Last time this happened several years ago, a lot of casinos closed, and the market was flooded with casino sets at extremely low prices.

(Trying to see the upside to an impending recession here...)

Thanks for all those clarifying answers. I guess we have to wait quite a bit more for the other casino's chips. If they end up rebranding and if the chips are sold that is. But i assume they will be, considering what happened to HS cle/cinci. Lets just hope for a quick sale and rebranding then

Is it beginning? :nailbite:
