Brand new here. Absolute rec player about six months away from having a nice card room and lounge in the basement and thinking about the right chips to have on hand. So much to learn ... I may have to play with striped dice for another year just to know enough!

Thanks! I was feeling the pain of no real chips combined with the promise of having folks over for cards* and reading around here for a while gave me a couple of realizations:

• There's just no way I'll get to a custom chip design that would please me ahead of being able to play cards with friends at our place, which I'm eager to do and which wasn't easily possible ~16 months ago.
• I've got a *ton* to learn (which is good, I like learning new things
• There's zero chance I'll wait to have friends over until I've learned all the things
• I think I'm supposed to get samples?

So for now, it's striped dice chips in (mostly) the right colors, washed and oiled (if only for me to learn), and figuring out what to learn next.
