Hello From Toronto !!

New to the forum and couldn't be more excited. I have read more info on poker chips the last week than in the last 15 years, So much so that I had to join PCF.
I am looking for a new tourney set.... so recommendations always welcome.

I hope to learn more and spend money buying sets.

Cheers
Shaun

Welcome to the forum!! Awesome opening post... any info on your current set up? Slugged chips, dice chips, China clay? You say you have been looking for a week... anything particular that catches you eye? As others will say always try to buy samples... it is more difficult to do with higher end chips but still possible... enjoy your chipping journey friend!! Fellow chipper Ben

Welcome!

Welcome! Have you determined which type of chip you prefer the most? Ceramics, plastic (Matsui, Bud Jones), Paulsons, TRK, or maybe some custom chips from CPC? If you have narrowed it down some, definitely do what PokerZombie said above and get your hands on to some samples before you make the plunge!

Welcome from Ottawa! When checking prices, keep in mind that it's almost always in USD, and the cost to ship across the border can be significant.

As probably most here, I had dice chips a long time ago, maybe 20 years ago. They still sneak into games that a may attend, the worst chips ever...lol. I also had a set of shitty Dunes back in the day, not paulsons but better than the dice. First real set I had was the National Poker Series (600pc), loved these chips. I ended up selling the set, second biggest mistake. I than stumbled onto sidepot gaming. I didn't know if what i was reading was true and legit but ended up buying just a hundred chips, 100's and 1000's. i really liked them but didn't end up moving ahead with a large set. BIGGEST MISTAKE! since then i sort of lost the passion. Now recently getting into more cash and tournament games the love for poker and poker chips has come back.

What am I looking, starting off small until i find the next masterpiece, I've order both the majestic and royal card samples, i think both of these would fit the bill for a cash game and tourney set up. until I find THE ONE!

Man you are in for a treat with the Royals!! They feel amazing!! I dont think you can go wrong with 43mm chips for your tourney... and with so many denominations you could choose to build a high roller set instead of your typical T2k or T10k plus the options to go higher with sweet MSK plaques! They truly are a solid set up, and fully capable of being your work horses while you find that perfect special occasion set as I call them! Again good luck hunting... if you have any questions or need help feel free to shoot me a PM anytime Sir! Fellow chipper Ben

You mentioned Side pot gaming. This set has taken over 3 years to assemble and still looking for 31 of the 1000s.

Welcome. Blushing Brides are playing tonight at Bathurst St Theatre. If you go, you’ll be glad you did.
