I was around some indoor gardens for a while that you worked in in the dark sometimes, the plants were in 5 gallon size pots with bamboo stakes to support them, the stakes ended about chest height when standing at the stage we were working in. One night we are working and a dude bends over and drives one of those bamboo stakes into his eye, deep. He got lucky but unlucky, lucky it mostly missed the important seeing bits in his eye and just destroyed the hearty healing white part stuff, unlucky it was a stake that had just been turned upside down inadvertently and the end of it was packed with cocoa choir and soaking wet with nutrients... He had to have a few surgeries where they were basically ice cream scooping his jelly/white part out to get the embedded dirt and a small infection out of his eye ball, for months his entire eye was a shade of red that I didn't think could exist in a human, but they were determined to save it and they did.

Sees just fine now, but the eye is lazy and you can tell something bad happened to it at some point.
