Hey all!

Total newbie here.
I’m looking to get the best chips that .60-.80 cents each can buy.

The few posts I’ve seen, it seems people are recommending Apache and brpro.

I was first looking at the milanos, but I haven’t seen many posts on them. I like the look of the milanos. Also it seems that at this price point, ceramics seem to be the move.

Am I spot on? Any suggestions?

Welcome!

I haven't priced BR Pro ceramics for a while, but they have fantastic products and terrific service. Highly recommend!

Apache has options in that range, or a bit less: Chinese card mold ceramics: Empire, Taj Mahal, Penthouse, Web mold "hybrid" Monaco, and china clays: Majestics, pharaoh, Dunes, Bank, and 43mm Royals (my personal favorite among these).

Also look up "Tina" on PCF for other options for Chinese ceramics, including semi-custom or fully custom chips.

I just don't know how you could possibly do better than Justins Group Buys in that price range. The enormous amount of pre-made inlay options along with about any edge spot combination you can think of makes it a no brainer. Throw in the quality of Web mold and Greek mold chips and I just don't know how you can do better. BR Pro is excellent to work with if you get into that price range.

If I was in your budget range, I'd go for web/Greek hybrid customs.

Get samples and a professional designer if you go custom.

Is this what you’re talking about?

That's a pretty good deal for that set. My only concern would be if the set is right for your game. It's a good breakdown for up to 8 players, and might work for 10 if you get creative.

I'm assuming this means you play tournaments. How many players do you usually have?

At that price point, I’d either get brpro ceramics, which I believe are the best ceramics you can buy retail right now, or the 43mm Greek mold hybrids from Justin, which have really great feel.

Problem is, if I were willing to pay 80 cents per chip, I’d talk myself into bringing that up to like a buck twenty a chip, which could probably buy some mint RHC Paulsons from some recent chiproom sales (wIth some patience and luck.).

It’s a weird breakdown. I’d want more 1k chips for sure.
