I have some players who like tournaments for big stacks but don't like the blinds going up and I was wondering if a cash game with a $20 buy-in could be multiplied by x10 for a $200 stack and then divided by x10 when cashing out would work??

It seems fine in my head but I'm curious if there is anything I am missing or if this is already an accepted practice?? I tried searching PCF but couldnt find any other posts about this. Any advice would be appreciated!

It fine, i played / hosted many times with chips multiply of 0.5. 0.1 0.01 (1/2. 1/10. 1/100) and it all fine.

Just make sure it not complicated shit like drivable by 7.5 or 9 etc

yeah good call! I would just stick to multiples of 10

My set is designed for .05/.10 to .25/.50 NL. We divide by 100.

We do effectively the same, before we all got more into playing cash, my buddy went out and bought denominated slowplay ceramics. We only use the white 1's for markers, like buttons for standup game or something. Everything else starts at 5, and essentially we treat them like cents - so dividing by 100. Been a staple for our .05/.10 game for years, now we do .25/.25 or .25/.50 a little more.

It's fun to look at them as dollar values and act like it's higher stakes. Though inevitably people get used to calling out the actual values, like saying "6 dollars" when throwing in a purple 500 and black 100.
