Hello from Michigan,

My name's John and I've been collecting chips for about a year now.

Although, my first few came in '94 when I went to Vegas with a few friends and my girlfriend/now wife. During that trip I stashed chips in the back seat of our rental car. I found (2) $25's and a $5 Vegas World chip when I got to the airport and was a little bummed out I had not cashed them in. I always held on to them thinking I'd make it back. Then when Vegas World closed and the Stratosphere opened I thought they were worthless but held onto them ever since.

Not having a chance to get to many casinos I just didn't think about chips a lot. Then in 2006 I was introduced to pkr*'s by a good friend and was hooked. Read books, played as many tourneys as I could, depending on the start time or if I had to work in the morning.

Of course, that's when the TV boom began too. The excitement of watching moneymaker battle those seasoned pros on ESPN and high stakes poker at the Nugget with Doyle and the gang. Plus all the WPT tours that were on 24/7. It took control of my free time when the family went to bed up until Black Friday hit! Boy that pissed me off lol.

But poker was in my blood and I was hitting as many charity tourneys and home games as I could while building my play money fortune on line :) lol.

Then finally, last October I had a chance to return to Las Vegas for a wedding and had a tremendous time
(OF COURSE!).
While at The Luxor on our last night I decided to keep a $1 chip and add to my starter kit of 3 Vegas World chips. We left our friends at The Riviera and crashed at Circus Circus with a planned 11am checkout in the morning.

Upon waking up I realized time was ticking so I got on the Deuce bus to make a loop around town. Jumping on and off the bus plus jogging with the morning crowd got me to 17 casinos in under 3 hours. Just getting to some of the tables thru the lobby's and all was an exhausting rush. I started at Circus, cut across the street at NY/NY and then made my way downtown. Finishing up at Binion's by getting a picture with the cool million.

I began adding to my singles collection like crazy. I've filled a 3 ring binder with a lot of my favorites and enjoy picking up single chips here and there.

But the real rush came this past Christmas Eve when I saw a remarkable display of 2nd Edition Tropicana chips I "accidently" made a good enough offer on :) The infamous Deezer delivered me a mountain of clay that kickstarted my heart in the right direction.

And as you know, Trop Fever eventually leads to 41pickup!!! He's helped me round off my biggest and best set.

In addition to the sick Trop's, I have a pretty decent sized Paulson/James Bond set going that is starving for $25's and a Nexgen set of custom sticker inlays I made awhile back.

I look forward to contributing to such a great site as much as I do my new passion for CHIPS! More CHIPS!

Hey John! Welcome to PCF!!!

I'm in Michigan myself, Birmingham to be precise... There's a few of us Michiganders who met through the forum, became friends and play together live fairly often...

Loads of great people here for sure and tons of AMAZING SETS...
