Curious how many other Barrington owners have them like this?

I’m still waiting for some adventurous barrington owner to lift the rails by 1/8” by unscrewing them and adding a spacer. Then you could order a topper that’s an inch “too big” and tuck it underneath the rail.

It’s been said before but unfortunately it’s an imperfect process to ensure perfect fits each time. Barringtons are not all created equal, and custom made-to-order products will always have some degree of imperfection. Customizations of the table like what I mention above are likely the only way to ensure a perfect look, but I understand it would require some effort so I’m not surprised nobody has tried it out yet.

I love the idea of modifying the table to tuck the topper underneath. I think I'll do that next time I order.

I ordered one 48x48 topper and one Barrington topper. The 48x48 is a perfect fit for my table and the Barrington is too short on both the width and the length. I thought it would "fill out" a little after playing, but after a 2nd run it's still too short.

Love the colors and feel of the topper, and will definitely order more in the future. The weird smell goes away after leaving it out in the open air for about 1.5 weeks.

Don't currently have a good picture of the shortness of the topper. You can see it somewhat on the left side and far side of the photo.

There’s this rubber ring that my local casino has to prevent cards from sliding under the rails. Have to find out who makes it or how but I would not mind adding it to my table. It appears to be tucked in under rail and can easily be used by tucking a topper underneath the rubber. Thoughts?

I’d like on that’s roughly 3x3 for when me and the wife or one of the kids are playing Gin at the dining table. We could probably get 3 out of one mat, or maybe they could set up a stock option at a lower price?

This could also be a solution for people who have toppers that weren't quite large enough.

For those of you who have put your topper on top of pre-existing felt:

Have you had any issues with the topper bunching and moving? My 48x48 topper that sits directly on a wood table doesn’t move at all, but the standard topper on the Barrington table bunches up and slides a decent amount. I assume it’s because of the shortened length and height that it doesn’t tuck in on all sides.

Can something be added underneath to give the topper some grip?

Hoping to be the chosen one . Trying to finish table on the side. I'm a slow worker though...

So my wife is a hobby craft/sewer. She's going to work with me to install a fabric bumper around the topper to serve as a catch for cards potentially sliding off.

If it works out, I will post pics. If it doesn't work out, well... @rjdev7 I might need to order a replacement off you.

I agree it looks great, but the LEDs are BRIGHT when you’re sitting at the table. It needs a layer of something that diffuses the light so it’s not so directional.

To be fair, the Triton topper is pimp, and definitely top of the food chain for all toppers.

BUT, the customization for these is sexy, and fits 99.9% of the needs for all here.

And, like, what would pricing be for a 3x3 mat?

It’s $2.50 cheaper per square foot shorter (or $2.50 more per square foot longer) than the standard 73.5” x 31.5” topper.

So for 3x3 it would be $107 shipped.

After having gone through 32 pages here it seems like the vast majority of toppers have been as inserts for Barrington tables in the like. For those that have used them on top of a dining table or some such how have they worked out? Is the thickness enough? Does it make more sense to measure a little under or a little over? Sewn edges for this type of use?
