Back when the USD 100 & 20 plaques were bought they did come in racks. If memory serves me correctly some racks didn’t survive the trip.I'm assuming that the chips will come in Matsui racks. Does anyone know if they sell plaques in Matsui plaque racks?
Updated my order qty, if you could update the sheet when you get a chance:

I'm doing a small stakes cash set and then a really economy focused T100 based tournament sets so that I can get those gorgeous hundreds onto a table, and utilize some of the plaques. The 4 25k plaques are pure vanity. Gold chips as bounties.
.25 x 200Please create new posts for updates so I don't have to go back through pages to find the OP.
If you want to share what you have already from a quantity number I’m always interested in what really long time chippers order as part of these when it comes to building out functional cash/tournament sets.Just saw this today. I have a tiny, heads up set of these beauties. Time to get more. I'll post again when I solidify numbers.
I picked mine up 2nd (even 3rd?) hand, and did not get any sort of optimal breakdown. It's more of a playable (limited) sample set of $25s through a single $1000. But it was enough to fall in love.If you want to share what you have already from a quantity number I’m always interested in what really long time chippers order as part of these when it comes to building out functional cash/tournament sets.
I think the group buy is open until sometime in November - just check the OP .Don’t know how I missed this. Can I still get a set of these? If so, do I just post what I want in this thread? Let me know. Thanks!
I'm local if you want to check them out in person, both chips and plaques. No buttons or gold chips.... don't forget about the gold chips. It’s been 10 minutes and I am already UPDATING my order.
Please add 20 $5k plaques to my above order. They look too nice not to have.
They are slightly different.I have a shuffle stack of the Emerald Bay Club Matsuis. They're square-edged with sharp corners. The pictures of the Zen Matsuis look like they're rounder on the corners, or even beveled.
Are the Zens sharp? How do they compare to the Emerald Bays?

I could give good tournament set breakdowns, but they vary depending on...
Anybody that tells you X number of 25s and X number of 100s (etc.) is only telling you how their group plays, which may be total crap for your group. I enjoy playing in casinos, but strongly avoid a breakdown used in most poker rooms, unless the cost per chip is pushing my limits..
- Maximum size of your group. I always leave room for growth, but I'm not afraid to put a table outside in the shed if I have to. YMMV.
- Your blind structure. A structure that starts super-deep stacked, but uses a lot of big jumps needs more big denom chips. A structure that remains fairly small, only needs bigger denoms for color-ups - and depending on the size of the group, most of those bigger denoms will start in play. Also, a blind structure that uses a 400-800 level needs more 100s than a structure that goes from 300-600 to 500-1000. Even more-so if the levels are long.
- Rebuys. Unlimited rebuys in a splashy group means more chips, both workhorse and big denoms. No rebuys or a fiscally-conservative group requires fewer chips.
- Desire to make change. I teach a lot of new players. The less they have to make in change, the more they will enjoy their first outing. Therefore, 10-16 chips of the lowest couple denoms are best for them. Seasoned players or groups with a knowledgeable dedicated dealer only need 8-10 of the smallest denoms. The change making is even greater if you have players that like to just call the big blind a lot, and you have a 400-800 blind level (see above).
Going to PM to avoid cluttering up an order thread...This is my order presently:
.25 x 200
1 x 200
5 x 300
25 x 80
100 x 120
500 x 40
1000 x 80
5k Plaque x 36
25k Plaque x 4
Light Button x 2
Dark Button x 2
Gold Metal x 20
I build around this:
https://www.pokerchipforum.com/thre...ut-a-cash-game-chip-set-5c-10c-to-5-10.30897/
For the cash side of mine, 800 chips, we play pretty small, so more quarters than most people would get and we probably wouldn't even use the $25s never mind the $100s, so I go with 80 $25s and 20 $100s just in case. I could probably comfortably swap a rack of $5s with a rack of $1s. Most of my cases are either 500 chips or 800 chips so I have a tendency to size things towards that. If I wanted to slim down to 500 I'd probably drop 150 $5s, and all of the $25s and $100s which isn't really comfortable.
The tournament set is the one where I'm trying to save money. I'll be up front, my group doesn't really play tournaments, however I really like the $100 chip and want to have a use for it and I can't miss this chance to get those plaques. I'm working on them, but it isn't in their wheelhouse. I can't remember where I found the T100 based 10k starting stack breakdown I'm following but it's 10/4/7/2 with 10 1ks for color up and 12 5ks for 3 rebuys. The 25k plaques are just vanity.
Yes, I'm mixing cash and tournament sets. If someone pockets a tournament chip and shows up at my cash game trying to cash a $100 or $500 chip I'm going to notice. Most buy-ins are $40 bucks...
Here's another comparison. I didn't resize these, tap for original resolution.
@JustDave 's assessment is spot on, they're not as sharp as Emerald Bay and might be different a composition. I hope this group buy exactly matches the original chips.

They also use two different materials, ABS and vinyl/nylon. I don't know if they are more slippery' than others. But if you are 'ordering the same part numbers' it should come out the same.I am ordering the exact same part numbers colors etc. I'm sure that in the last 10 years or so since the last group buy things could have changed, but there isn't much I can do about that right now.
