Right now the next time people won't be so worried I feel like they did it on purpose

A state employee pushed the wrong button says the Wall Street Journal. I'd like to learn more about that person. This whole incident points out several potentially disturbing problems.

Heads are gonna roll for this one.

I'd like to learn the protocol (chain of actions) for this warning system and if there are buttons side by side that can be pushed accidentally. Sounds like a rewrite is needed at the very least.

What's crazy is it took over half hour to sound a false alarm , are u fkn kidding me if u mistakenly hit the wrong can't u undo
It fast

Wow. That's unbelievable. Im sure you have to do more then one step to send out a thing like that. Dont see how that could be an accident.

You have requested "Send missile" warning. Are you sure you want to send it?

> Y

You have requested "Y" which will send the missile warning. Are you SURE you want to send it?

> Y

Sending missile warning. Press "Y" to continue. Press "N" at any stage to rescind.

YYYYYYY YYYY YYYYYYY

Missile warning sent. Good luck in your new job

> Ooh fuck

According to news reports, the guy who sent it out didn’t even realize it until coworker’s phones started blowing up with the alert.

The ability to mis-click a statewide alert sounds like a real problem.

Told wife the story. She thinks there was a missle, defense systems/star wars got it, and this false alarm story is a cover up...

It's at least plausible.

My personal belief as a conspiracy theorist is that the alert system was hacked by North Korea or Russia to see 1-how easy it was and 2- what the response protocols were. I do not believe it was a mistake - I don't believe the real and test alerts would be on the same drop down and also don't believe it would take nearly 40 minutes to correct a mistake. Just MHO.
