Royal Flush
I honestly have no idea what to call that stuff. It was raised like thick paint, but extremely durable and very hard to get off. Almost like lead based paint or something. The good thin is that it was paint and not marker like it looks on your chips. Marker will penetrate the pores of the clay and soak in just like when we oil chips. The paint I had to remove was really just on the surface.Hi fellow chipper Ben! This set is bananas!! And peaches and cherries and pears and oranges ohmy!
Was the cancellation mark sharpie or marker? I have some radiant red boomtowns that appear to have something similar and am wondering how you got it off:

I stared with a knife but you have to be extremely careful as you can easily get into the clay trying to penetrate and get an edge going to remove the black.
Some are going to cringe here, but I actually decided to try wet sand paper and it worked very well. Obviously careful to fan it out with each pass to avoid flat spots
I had about 55 of the 75 total that had heavy paint, the rest were pretty light so I used a knife on those. Apparently they spilled whatever the Cancelation paint was on a few of the faces
I saved the two left chips, and think I can save the right... but got into the HS too much on the bottom one, going to have to replace that one unfortunately.
This stuff can be removed but it is very time consuming and you have to be very careful not to get into the clay of Hot Stamps.
I fear how deep that marker has penetrated the clay on your chips @Grandmasturkey , keep us posted!
