I am looking to sell my current set of Modern Clay and Inplay poker chips from Sidepot.com and buy a new custom set. So I am trying to get a gauge on what the market may be for my set. To be clear, I am not selling them now and won't until I have my new chips but am just trying to determine what my net cost is likely to be. My sense is that $1.00/chip is reasonable, but having never sold chips before, I could be off so I am looking for some input from those of you that may know better. Thank you for any guidance you can provide. Pictures of the set are below.

You are probably $3 or more per chip, I think these may be a little worn. They don’t make bcc chips anymore and these are nice ones!

That's literally what this thread is doing lol
No, it’s not. He’s literally getting everyone’s best guess. By going and doing the research himself in the classifieds he can see who sold and what the prices actually sold for which is better than someone’s opinion.

FYI: My inplay 100s sold in one day for $3.75/chip. $25’s sold for $3/chip.

I imagine those $5’s will garner some serious attention. (edit: disregard on the $5’s. I thought those were inplay $5’s)

That set at $1/chip will not last as long as it takes him to type up the sales thread.

Wouldn't opinions on prices be based on what people have seen them sell for?

Your opinion about something shouldn't just be pulled from the ether, that is a guess not an opinion

Maybe read the definition “opinion”?

I appreciate both the suggestion regarding the classifieds AND any guidance people have been gracious enough to offer. I take useful information wherever I can find it. Being relatively new to this forum, I am finding the depth of knowledge here to be impressive and very helpful. So thank you both.

how’s your inbox doing
LOL. This is a case of "who the hell knew?" I bought these 20 years ago when I started my league because they were the nicest chips I could find. They have been the chips my club has used ever since. I came into this just hoping to offset some or all of the cost of a new custom set. I figured if I got what I paid for them, I was doing OK. But I am really glad I decided to do my due diligence on this forum. I have long told people I am a "chip snob". Who knew there were so many others and who knew my chips had legitimate value? I have learned more in a week here than in the 20 years prior.

@GreatWhiteDope If you want a custom set on the quality of these chips, your only current option is CPC chips and they are looking to sell the business, so best to get an order in while they are still accepting them. Expect a price hike going into January, so you will want to start working on a design now (plenty of people here who can help if needed in the custom chip forum section).

You really can't do better than what you already have, but if you want to make a change after 20 years then I get it. Anything less than CPC chips and you will be disappointed compared to what you've been using.

I was pretty well set on getting a set of chips as part of a group buy from Broken Arrow. I got samples and the chips seemed to be pretty nice. But now you have me questioning that choice. But what the hell, why not? I will check them out. But just a heads up, my wife may come hunt you down if I spend any more time on this little journey I have started. LOL

I would argue they're STILL some of the best chips going. That 5K was and is one of my all time favorites. So many chips that I bought 15-20 years ago I wish I had held on to... LOL

Here are some preliminary designs for the new chips. The inlay is just a placeholder for the moment. But I would like opinions on which design of each color you prefer.

I would recommend you get a color sample from CPC so you can see how the screen translates to real life
