Hey everyone, new to the forum and the hobby but have been enjoying going down the rabbit hole a bit. One question I thought early on here is about specific Paulson sets (fantasy and expired casino chips) is what sets are actually the most common out there? Is it typically some of their home sets like the classics or THC? Or is it some casino sets like Jacks or Horseshoe Casinos perhaps? Would be curious to hear your thoughts!

Back in the day, Paulson Classics were side by side on every website that sold slugged dice chips. I even saw them on clearance when certain denoms started to run dry. However, CDI’s and Pharaohs had multiple runs on different molds and even different manufacturers. But based on the timing of the “poker boom”, I’d lean towards the Classics.

I agree, it’s likely the Classics, but that doesn’t mean they can be acquired for the least cost. Since they have been out of production for so long and the demand for them still remains, they are in the $3-$4 per chip range.
There’s plenty of other casino sets that were offered by ChipRoom that come in at well below $3-$4 per.

If you combine them all, there has to be more horseshoes and jacks out there than anything else. But from an individual casino? I don’t know, but it wouldn’t shock me. Some of those casinos had a lot of damn chips.

Well I did end up grabbing a bunch of Horseshoe Cincy’s as my first set of paulsons! Found some in good condition at the right prices and should be a great set to play right out the gate. So far though Ive found too many amazing sets to even count…. Thanks to everybody’s enabling haha

I pretty sure certain retired Casino Set have the largest number of chips / sets

For example the HSI Secondary $1 have 400 racks and Secondary 1a alone have 1000 racks whereas primary $1 have at least 940 racks minimum
