Curious to know what sets come to mind when you think of sets that are famous to most rec poker players (not chip collectors, so all those pretty sets like lakeshores do not count lol)

The obvious few that come to mind are rounders, Binions horseshoe, and the WSOP main event. Are there any others?

CDI
Paulson Noir
Bud Jones Wyndham and San Juan
Casino Royal

and nr 1 Teddy KGB Rounders set

Are the Paulson noir that well known??
I don’t think any poker player I know would recognize “World Top Hat & Cane” or “Noir”. Those are definitely ubiquitous in rec-world, but not necessarily famous.

Probably most famous fantasies would be CDI and Rounders by a large margin.

Most famous casinos I’d look towards Vegas — Flamingo, Vegas World, Mirage, Bellagio, Binions, etc.

Agree, but I think paulsons classics would be much more recognised than CDI as well. But probably non of the specific paulon sets would be very much known ny casual players at all. Maybe some would be aware of the brand name Paulson.

And you forgot Aria from your list of casinos. They have had a lot of televised poker from there over the years.

I’d say McDonalds is easily the most recognized or well known restaurant in my city, I’m just not sure it would make the list as most famous.

Maybe just semantics, as I’m not 100% sure @moechar’s intent. I assumed he wasn’t looking for “Paulsons” as his answer just because that’s like asking what’s the most famous Kleenex or Coke.

I did include CDI just because it has an instant “James Bond” moment for nearly everyone, as do Rounders chips.

Either way, definitely Aria.

First instinct is, "who cares, or why?"

Second thought is to get clarification, "famous" or "most recoginizable" ? Not the same thing imo, and I'm not even sure that poker chips can be famous. Maybe the plaques from the Casino Royale movie would qualify, maybe not....

But I doubt non-collectors even noticed the chips in Rounders (either set).

WSOP chips, recognizible maybe. But famous?

+1 for the Taj mahal chips, that slomo scene of johnny chan playing with the black chips in rounders alone should get it an honorable mention, so iconic. Plus, the Taj is where I played my first live poker!
