MSK plaques (3 Viewers)

I can't say enough good things about MSK. The service, communication and ultimate product were well worth the price. From dispatch to my door was four days :).

What was your final price/plaque shipped down under?

with the three different sizes, 55 plaques averaged 9.50usd landed (13.30aud). I went for the three biggest sizes, so would come down a couple of bucks I reckon for the mid sizes.

What’s the verdict on how MSK plaques feel vs. Matsui? Visually the quality looks similar. At half the price, why not?

Now if they can just pick up the ball on the gold lace and lunettes… :whistling:

No Matsuis at home and it's been a while since I've had any, so I won't be able to help you unfortunately :(

What did they charge you for that sample set?

$30 including shipping from Korea. A steal imo. To contact, just email the address found on the plaques: kyu001@hanmail.net. Very friendly, very prompt in their responses and with shipping. I first emailed them to request this package 10 days ago and it arrived today.

Jennifer just sent me a quick shot of the purdy sample set. Looking sweet. Will fondle later.

Wow, that escalated quickly. @stocky Compared to the pre-Blades samples, MSK have really stepped up their game :-). Love those patterns they have going on there, and that blue is wonderful. Hmmmm..... Looks like they have sent the European size plaques. Great stuff @jbutler . Hmmm, that '500' font looks familiar :-).

So am I correct that all the plaques on the website are just templates and you just tell them what you want it to say and they make it? No art files to send them?

The plaques on the site are purely indictative of what they can do. They can do anything you want, and can even customise the size of the plaque - say you wanted a square one for instance. You still need to supply some art if you want a specific thing, but they can handle most things as long as you know the font you want and colour code etc...

No probs Spike. The only thing you would have to be mindful of would be the size of the recessed area for your art design. You can print on all surfaces, but some minor distortion will occur if you cross the recessed area. Post some mocks when you get some done :-).

Do you have a layout of the recessed area dimensions? Was going to start working on some artwork

Hey Woody, it will depend on what size plaques you want, but the 'ridge' appears to be 10mm all the way around. So, allow for that and depending on the overall plaque size, you'll have a rough idea how much area you have to work with. My largest Eurpopean size plaque (118mm x 82mm) has a recessed area of 97mm x 61.5mm.

I just used the attached (95x65) as a rough idea.

@jbutler when you get a chance mate, could you let me know the dimensions of the jetons please? And some close up pics of the plaques patterns would be great. When you get a chance of course :-).
Cheers,
Adam

sorry I am a little confused on your total price for 55 plaques? 9.50USD each with shipping? thanks

Average of $9.50/plaque shipped to AUS for the three sizes ordered (including art/setup/features charges and fees). An order of the smaller plaques would be less, an order of the larger plaques would be higher. Dunno the shipping cost difference between AUS and CAN (or US) from Korea, but could be significant.

^^^ This.

Hey Spike,

My 500 cut-corners (94mmx66mm) were $4.46 ea + a set up fee of $30, plus a $0.30/plaque addition of the serial numbers. (20 plaques)
My 1000 round-corner (107mmx75mm) were $5.80 + a set up fee of $30, plus a $0.30/plaque addition of the serial numbers. (20 plaques)
My 2000 round-corner (118mmx82mm) were $6.69 + a set up fee of $30, plus a $0.30/plaque addition of the serial numbers. (15 plaques)

Shipping was $70USD to Brisbane, Australia.

Landed in Australia was about $9.50USD/plaque. It would have been a bit cheaper if I went for the smaller plaques. I was actually going for the 82mmx57mm and 94mmx66mm when Eui told me they were thinking of doing the European sizes. I was the first customer for the European sizes. As you can see from Jbutler's post, compared to my sample pics further up this post, MSK have gone ahead in leaps and bounds :-).

You just gots to do it mate.

For inspiration, check out Marlow's plaque and jeton sale page at this link. Jump into 'France' and see what ze French are dooing :-). Some great ideas. I f I were to pursue a 'French' theme for another set I may be thinking about, I would consult this page.

I checked out the ones from the UK when I was trying to work out my Blades plaques. Not as flashy as the European ones, of course :-).

:-)

@Phantom - any news on when (if) your sample plaques may become available? Itching to see these in person before I start down the road to my own customs.....

Hi BG, I checked with Eui and the $30 set up fee for each denomination would still be applied, even if I wanted more of the same ones myself :-(. I would be pleased to make these available if there were enough interest, so that it didn't push the price/plaque up. Ultimately, 30 of each plaque would only mean an extra dollar on top + shipping to the US. 15 of each would only add $2.00/plaque and keep shipping down as well. Not sure, but I imagine it would be in the vicinity of $50-$60USD. However, if there is enough interest, I will certainly try to get Eui to do me a favour on S&H if I can :-). What do you think mate?

Sorry your Blades samples (and the other chaps) are delayed on account of the oval DB. I am hoping that the prototype will be done soon. Sal is a champ and tweaked a few things to make it look better. :-).

I wonder if to save on shipping to North America, everyone who wants either samples or personal plaques could all order at the same time and have them shipped to one address in the US and then redistributed from there? Lets say I want 30, the shipping would probably be more than the products... so I could 'piggyback' on many other orders along with others? Shipping of 30 or so from US to Canada where I am would be maybe around 15-18 bucks I think. Just an idea?
I think shipping to Canada right to my door from there would be close to 80-100 bucks

Or have 1 US address and 1 Can address if enough in Canada want them as well.

I think a single US address and re-distribuiton system would work best, and be less of a hassel for MSK.

Based on the MSK samples (which are no charge), I'm guessing that shipping to the US is around $30 for roughly eight plaques or so. 55 plaques ran Phantom around $70. Re-shipping within the US would cost either SFRB $6+ or MFRB $13+, depending on quantity, and re-shipping from US to CAN is around $20+ just for the SFRB (which will only hold six plaques or so).

Based on all that, it doesn't seem to me that local re-shipping is likely to gain any benefits in overall shipping costs.

Perhaps, if the interest were there, I could order what is required and then re-ship from Australia direct to each buyer. I will do some sums via Australia Post and get back with postage for 1, 2 or 3 Blades plaques. I can't see it being $30.00, but it may not be desirable for a sample Blades plaque.

The only other thing, if one wanted simply to view MSK plaques, and not so much a Blades plaque, perhaps recently received MSK samples could do the rounds of the US players for review. I was going to do that with Stocky here in Oz, but he ordered some at the same time :), and whats more, he got several plaques for free and didn't pay shipping :). I could see how much shipping would be to send my samples to you if that helps.
