This is very true.

I don't think I've ever seen someone actually wear down chips on this forum to the point where they're almost bike tires. The one person that had a weekly game or a few games a week for a few years straight with an ESST set or something like that wore them down, but that's the only time I've ever seen that.

With ceramics if you were to use them A LOT and actually get some wear to happen, you'd just lose the print essentially. You'd start seeing white before anything else.

I've seen, bought, handled, and sold a set of CDI98 chips which were bike tires. Was told they were used in a multiple day per week game for 10-15 years. That'll do it. Even ceramic and the better plastics will see wear after that amount of use.
