My first Poker Room (25 Viewers)

As I am anticipating starting up my own home poker game within the coming couple of months, I've gone ahead and utilized what space I've been given by the boss! gotta be happy with whatever I'm given. Not a massive house by any means!

This is my first poker room. I put up a couple movie posters...hockey memorabilia because at my roots, I'm a hockey crazed Canuck. I pretend to like basketball, but it's hockey that makes my blood pump thicker..

I added in an old glass table that needed some cleaning. It can hold all my chips and MOAR!! Still got 540 chips in the mail. Ridiculous this addiction...

This is a used Chanman Poker table. It's a T_Chan design and I bought it from him last year. Couldn't be happier.

EDIT : I've added a super cool mini fridge. Got it for $50 on Craigslist. Woot woot! Love it

Love the Fear and Loathing poster! I almost went with a Dr. Gonzo theme for my poker table and BCC customs years back.

My wife wanted to get me a piece of artwork for my poker room for Christmas last year, I told her it can’t have any dice chips!!

I know the poster has some pretty poor chips but its a "Rounders" movie poster. The dice chips are brutal though, but then, most of my group doesn't know about chips.

Only @realcdn and @Lemonzest are the PCFers who can discern their lack of elegance!

My group is new and doesn't know just what kind of chip treatment is in store for them...

Thanks for the kind compliments first of all. Appreciate it.

Believe it or not, my first room in the house was downstairs in a small room that felt cramped. I ran a couple games that I'm not sure everyone liked.

So..I had a deep conversation with the boss. Asked nicely and explained why a small closed room was not a good fit for poker. As well, it is good that I've invested so much money into chips since joining here. This made it hard for my wife to deny me. That saying "too far gone". That describes me and my situation in general on this forum. I described to her my dreams and how I want to run my games...

She sees and hears how much I love poker. The chips. The tables. The decor i got. I still have plans to upgrade to a single beautiful custom shelf for all the supplies.

So in the end, boss approves. Accepts my love for the poker game and doesn't mind that it's my hobby and that it's okay to have one.

Have no fear man. Illustrate somehow to your queen how you love the game of poker. Explain the dream of having good company over and immersing everyone into the "casino" type environment if only once a month!

I have a plan for a wall mounted TV and a mini-fridge in the room.

For now though...I've updated the room with a re-arranged shelving unit that holds many of my chippies!!!

I ran my first home game last night and I have added some pics...

It was a complete success I'd say I had so much fun and all enjoyed themselves!

@realcdn was in attendance and it was a blast to have you man!

Shout out to @LotsOfChips who also was in attendance and the eventual winner. PCF was well represented Infact..

I'm actually the Dragon Ball fan That was one of my rental tables that I retired and sold to Jeevansluck. I saw a version of that artwork somewhere else and used the idea for a poker table felt. Goku and Vegeta squaring off, Shenron in the background with a betting line fading from orange to blue. I might do another for myself down the road.

Good stuff @Jeevansluck, looks like a good turn out with some nice stuff like the chips, cards, buttons and jettons. Not a bad setup for a first night of hosting. Now that you've hosted once, you'll want to host all the time. I'll see what I can do about upgrading the table for you ASAP.
