4 of a Kind
I bought my first set of Paulson chips late last year, so I guess it's time to put up some photos. These are obviously not among the most spectacular chips out there, but I'm still very happy with them!
I moved to a new city last year and so I no longer have easy access to the old games I used to play in. I decided to buy chips with the plan to start my own game.
I'll write a bit of my background, so it you just wanna see some pictures then scroll down a bit! 10+ years ago when I was in high school, me and my friends had just started getting into poker and for quite a while we looked into quality chips for our game. In the end we decided we were not at the point economically where we could justify buying high-end chips, and ended up with some "mock paulson classics". Maybe Nexgens or something, but I'm not really sure of the name of them. In that process we did however get samples, including ceramics, paulsons, and a variety of plastics. Over the years I have played with a lot of different chips, mainly bad plastics and ceramics. In Norway we do not have Casinos or legal gamling halls, but we do have a lot of home-games and underground poker clubs. Most home-games use the cheapest dice chips, often without denoms, but some of the bigger clubs have made custom chips, which seem to mostly be ceramics. Anyways, when I decided I wanted to start a home-game I decided I wanted good chips, as this was always some sort of dream I had when we played back in the day, and thats how I found PCF last year. Considering I now have a better economy than when I was in high shcool I decided to go for it when @AK Chip was selling his GV chips, and I'm very happy I did.
I bought this set to play 1/2 or 5/5 games of my local currency. (8NOK =1 usd)
My plan is to add a full rack or 80 hundos and maybe 50 more $1s and $25s, but I need to save some cash up before i do that. @Gear helped me make labels for a barrel of PAD $500s I purchased from a fellow Norwegian chipper just to increase my bank enough to play pretty deep 5/5 games as a temporary solution and I'm very happy with the result.
Enough talk, here's some pictures.
