Stage 1: Let's replace our seldom used pool table with a poker table. Yeah, that's a great idea!

Stage 2: I need some chips. Let's check Amazon. Man, $150 for a "good" set. That seems expensive...

Stage 3: These Amazon chips are crap! I can't shuffle them, and 13.5g sounded good, but they're too heavy and don't sound like Casino chips, either.

Stage 4: I wonder if there's a site on the net about Poker chips... Pokerchipforum.com?!? WTH? That seems pretty specific.

Stage 5: HOLY SH*T, BATMAN! $1500, $2500, $20,000 for a set of chips! That's F*CKING INSANE!

Stage 6: Read many forum posts. Learn all these ridiculous acronyms. Rinse. Repeat.

Stage 7: Maybe I don't need Paulsons, let's try China Clays. $350 for a set now sounds like a screaming bargain!

Stage 8: Offer recently purchased China Clays for sale on PCF.

Stage 8: Wow! I can find used Paulson's for under $1/chip!

Stage 9: I can't believe I just spent $1000 for 1500 well-used Majestic Star chips....

God help me whatever Stages 10-12 are.

Pretty much the same story for me.
The next step after the one where you're at now for me was:
Getting a tourney set after I got my first Paulson rhc cash set, even though my group plays exclusively cash.
Then a limit set even though we never played limit.
And whilst assembling these finding out how big of a difference there is between RHC and THC and going full THC for the tourney and limit set.
Then coming across a rack of leaded THC by accident and simply having to start another cash set around those because there is such a big difference in feel and sound...

Step 10: become addicted to the classifieds
Step 11: keep buying and selling chips, never quite reaching full satisfaction despite the amount of transaction volume
Step 12: pay CPC a massive sum of money for fully custom chips (<--- this is where I am at)
