Love em. That $100 chip with the shotgun (Benelli?) inlay is fantastic.
And yes, "mineral oil" here means good old engine lubricant. Parafin oil is the term, and, just like vaseline or KY jelly, it shouldn't produce any particular looks on the pharmacist's face - at reasonable quantities, that is.
Speaking as a pharmacist, I would *NOT* want to know what you do with the chips after you coat them in KY jelly.
Congrats on the new set! Color combinations are great! Particularly love 5s, 500s and 1000s.
Oil quantity: After having showered the chips in lukewarm tap water in a strainer, and having wiped them clean with a soft micro-fiber cloth, I let them dry out for the night.
Next day, I used half a teaspoon of oil on a shoeshine applicator sponge for roughly every 5 barrels (100 chips), applying the oil on rolling edges only.
After having oiled all the rolling edges, I wiped them with a clean soft cloth, and then used that cloth (now slightly oiled) to wipe the perimeter of the faces too, around the labels (that's the tiresome and time-consuming part).
Wives / partners with a true love for chips and probably some love for you could be valuable in this process.

Thanks Coyote Just wait till I take a photo of the $1 chip! My favourite. Finally got the second box from Australian Customs after forking out $600 in fees and taxes
I felt like I had to buy other stuff to cover my mineral oil purchase. Made me feel like an awkward teenager again!
With preping the chips, I cleaned a barrel with water and found no change at all. I let them dry overnight too. In the end I held a barrel between my thumb and index finger, dabbed a drop or two of oil on my finger, and ran it across the edges, spreading it evenly. I then put them on paper towel covered cooling trays. I left them to dry for about 3 days and they come up great Once I get them all done, I'll post pics
Just showering or dipping in them in water changes almost nothing - it's the gentle wiping aftewards that does the clening job. Thanks Coyote Just wait till I take a photo of the $1 chip! My favourite. Finally got the second box from Australian Customs after forking out $600 in fees and taxes
