Cash Game Need help with cash set breakdown (3 Viewers)

So to slightly hijack this thread...I want my chipset to also cover a .25/.50 to $1/$2 game, but I am looking to buy 1000 chips. My chip denominations are .25/$1/$5/$25/$100/$500.

I was thinking along the lines of:

.25 - 100
$1 - 200
$5 - 500
$25 - 140
$100 - 40
$500 - 20

Does this look about right? Not sure on the $25/$100/$500 breakdown.

Looks pretty f'ing good to me Chippy...

If I was just to nitpick, I'd do 100/200/500/100/80/20 instead personally for a bit bigger bankroll (Guinness' in town!) and more even racks... But your breakdown is pretty great for a flexible one-table big bet game...

agreed with Chaos' amended breakdown. honestly at $1/2NL, i'd rather put hundos in play than quarters and i know lots of other players feel the same.

not sure if you're completely set on the 1000 chip cap, but i'd try to get some more $5s in there as well.

Never underestimate your quarters. Always get enough of them.. sucks always making change for blinds
Get at least 140 of them for a10 person game

We changed our game to .50/.50 you only need half the chips. Who doesn’t throw in the quarter in a home game from the SB?

There is no need for full racks of a single denomination. IMO, you should base your chip-set around the max. number of players you intend to have at your table, which is 10.

I gave players in my .25/.50 game 12 quarters and 12-$1's with their buy-in.

I would suggest you go with 150 $1's if you are serious about hosting a $1/$2 game.

The $5 chip will be your primary workhorse. A $25 chip works as well as a $20 chip in a .25/.50 game and even better in a $1/$2 game.

That gives you a chip breakdown of:

120 quarters
150 - $1's
350 to 450 - 5's
and 80 - $25 chips, plus plaques.

Valid point. We eventually made this change to our game. (I bought a rack of .50 Paulson fracs and nixed the .25 chips.)

You may want to consider doing the same SixSpeed. (This will add $520 to your bank.)

100 - .50
150 - $1's
350 to 450 - 5's
and 100 - $25 chips, plus plaques.
