Recently played poker with the family over the holidays and forgot how much I enjoyed it. So im looking to start a home game and buy chips for my new monthly home game. But I need help with chip breakdowns! We played .5/.10 blinds with a 10 dollar buy in and thought it was too slow/low stakes. But knowing my friends (none of us really play poker) but want an activity to hang out and do, I think most people would be down for a 20 dollar buy in. It would be 8-10 people and looking to do .25/.25 blinds.

So for .25/.25 with a dollar buy in and you can re-buy in multiple times (but dont really expect people to re-buy in that much), what would the chip break down be?

I was thinking -
200 - .25
200 - 1.00
50 - 5.00

Is this too many quarters? And how would you break down the starting stack?

20 quarters per player is probably way more than enough, but it makes it so you just give a barrel for easy starting stack of $5 plus 15 $1 chips or 10 + a $5 chip for the rest.

Later add-ons can just be all 5s.
