I'm looking to bid on an item that's currently in the UK but I've contacted the shipper and they have confirmed they will not ship internationally dispite the technical details of the listing. Sooo...I need a chipper in the UK to bid on the item for me and then reship to the States.

If you're in the UK and are willing to assist, drop me a PM, please.

If you win the auction, does this not fall into the new eBay system where he posts it to some central eBay depot and they post it to you, with you paying eBay for the international postage?

True, but if they do choose to use it in the listing, are they obligated to use it, or can they restrict sales to domestic buyers only? If they decide afterwords that they don't want to use it, I would have thought they would have to cancel the listing, and re-list it properly.

Pretty sure he has to if you win the auction, part of the eBay terms I think.

While I suspect the rules of eBay would agree with you, nothing forces the seller to do so. And if I have already spoken to the seller and the seller has said that's what they are doing, I don't think I help myself by potentially winnig an auction and sending funds, only to have to file a dispute, have funds tied up for a while until the dispute is resolved, and hve no chips to show for it. I think my best option is to play by the sellers rules in this case.

I can see your point, although it's a weird stance to take to not want to send your item to a UK eBay depot. Easy and straightforward.

I just listed a (non poker) item on eBay, the international postage even with shipping to an eBay depot was an option, not a requirement. Still strange given that he's eliminating a huge market though by not shipping to north America.
