The fell on the hands will be never the same on the real Paulson

I’m sure Dave remembers the huge stink on the Blue wall when they advertised the cc Pharoahs as compression molded. Huge arguments and name calling ensued.

But they're not fake Pharaoh's Club chips. Just 2nd generation injection-molded china clays, and not the original compression-molded clays made by Paulson.... with the same artwork designer and same artwork rights owner (at the time of creation).

Agreed, the HOW they came to be is not the same but it would end up the same result. For those making the argument that it could “dupe” new chippers or the scammers on eBay will use these the outcome is very much the same. They are several Dunes tributes/copies, even down to the mold. This is no different. Before you sink hundreds into collectible objects you should do some basic research and understand what you are buying. Most seem happy to get a knockoff Dunes set never thinking about “original artist” or copyright but we somehow draw the line at this mold? And the China clays are closer in feel than a ceramic will ever be.

I never said they are fakes. I posted a picture and asked what the forum thought about another chip.
I haven't taken a side or given my take at all, so far.

Although, on Apaches website, he does claim "Each chip is solid clay" (No it isn't ) "and is custom molded just like a Paulson"(No it isn't).
Same with the dunes.
All made in China.
Injection molded
All these chips are just riding the coattails of the original.
Good for Apache.
I like the chip, it's his #1 seller.


The consumer misinformation is rampant. Everything is CLAY, CASINO CLAY, CHINA CLAY, CLAY COMPOSITE. Meanwhile its all a varying mixture of Plastic resin, talc, and metal slugs for some.

Every day clients walk into my store and say.
"I want those heavy 15g chips like in the casino."
"Do you have clay chips" I show them actual Paulsons, "Too light, and why are they $3 each?"
Picks up a 13.5g Poker Knight chip, "like these, these are clay right?"
We spend hours a day explaining to customers how they are being lied to / taken advantage of, by other companies, and individuals selling chips with these shiny words to dupe you into these clay striped dice chips.


I was just asking the experts.
It seems like to me.
Ceramic chip and Paulson, obvious difference in look and feel.
"China clay" Paulson and a Paulson. Less obvious.

I think the new molds look good, had they been available when I ordered my set I'd have gone hat and cane over cards mold.

FWIW the dunes knockoffs were actually produced by vendors who paid for the rights to do so. At least that’s what I’ve read.

I think plenty of people will get them, but they'll just do it on the down-low considering how many people seem dead-set against them.

+1, my friend bought a set of Dunes from Apache because he though it “Clay”

He thought it just a different chip manufacturer but it the same type of material as the Paulson Clay, I only noticed the description after I know he got “mislead“

Also, he probably should have ask me in the first place before buying too
