Hi Everyone,

For almost 20 years I've been playing (occasionally) with a Jackpot Casino plastic with coin inlay set, 100 each of 1,5,25,100,500. I finally got a situation where the monthly low stakes cash home game should be regular and stable, so now I got an idea I should upgrade to something a little bit more glamorous, and with a decent denomination breakdown.

I still don't want to spend a fortune so I figured its the china-clay / ceramic area. Seems like shipping is the big issue. Maybe I wait until I can visit Vegas again in person or find something 2nd hand.

We play 25p/25p NL, I prefer fewer denominations in a game, I reckon I want maybe 100 * 25p and 300/400 £1s. Maybe a few £5s and £25s just to round it out. Got to be Vegas colours I think.

My first though was to get something in the style of traditional Milano / Rounders type chips, but I'm stating to warm to some of the Sunfly sets too.

I got samples of these https://www.thepokerdealer.co.uk/product-page/25-mayfair-club-10g-pure-clay-casino-poker-chips-only which are Milano style, but I think the quality looks and feels low, does anyone know for reference what type of chip this is? It has a bit of texture, and I don't think its ceramic. I have stack of the original Ladbrokes Poker Millions tournament ceramics, its not similar to those, softer and duller.

Welcome! Whereabouts in London are you? I have family in Dulwich, and always try to get up there as much as possible.

Those first chips you listed are the ones I'm selling, actually! I've found it's a great breakdown for my 25p/25p, just using the $25 chip as our 25p. How much bank do you usually need on any given night?

Hi, I'm in Beckenham, just over the Crystal Palace hill from Dulwich.

Our games not been bigger than around £300 total so far, so I want to try to do that mainly in £1s. I currently use the $ as pennies - 25, 100, 500 but I can see people struggle matching bets when there are multiple denominations , at least late at night after some drinks. (AND when we also had $5 as 5p for 10/25 instead of 25/25.

I used to run games with fewer chips and lots of change until I went to the US, at first thought it was weird everyone has 5+ stacks, then got used to it and now I like it.

Yeah I studied the ad for a while wondering if it was the right one of me, but for some reason that I can't quite explain, I want to play with the regular colours (i.e. red and green, if used, should be up at 5/25) and not mark down the currency. It might be that I hope one day the game gets to £5/£10 with those . - So I'm looking for a load of 1s now

The 2nd one I think would be a pretty good fit, but its marked up by import costs, and just seems way too pricey for a 40c chip.

Yeah, both of those prices are way too high, for sure?

I think your best bet is going to be getting yourself a set of custom Cards Mold ceramics — have you come across those yet whilst perusing the forum?

Welcome to the forum. It looks like Milanos that have been rebranded under their own label. If that's the case then they are China Clays. If anyone else knows better feel free to chime in.

Most folks here order via Alibaba, one of the vendors there has a main point of contact called Tina. Heaps of us here on PCF have ordered via Tina. I tend to do most of the talking / figuring out through whatsapp, then they email you an invoice for payment. Shoot me a PM if I can help on the designs, or if you have any Q's.

It's honestly easier to just place an order by yourself being based in the UK, buddy. A group buy won't bring the price down a huge amount and can't imagine there's enough interest between UK chippers anyway.

I was almost certainly going to order custom card molds soon. Then I got lucky and found a £-denominated set of DDLM on FB marketplace in London, in a decent breakdown for my game. Just wish it has a few more £1s. So I'm starting here...
