NEW SSC sneak peek (2 Viewers)

I don't have enough to test the card slide, I only have the samples. It's $8/ft USD plus shipping.

I would post some photos of some CPS chips on the felt samples I have but I seem to have already misplaced them somewhere in my shop. I need to get organized...

When can we order from you and will Navy be available?

Why can't we say where we bought stuff? I've seen like a zillion Amazon links?

As far as I know there's only these 4 colors available, so no, no navy blue :(

I dont want to break any rules because I am not a vendor. If answering $8 a foot breaks the rules or even comes close to breaking the rules, please remove this reply.

I am new and I dont want to ruffle any feathers.

How much per foot does the Chinese stuff cost. Is there a big quality diffs?

Full discretion - I am completely biased, but its because Ive grown up through the development of the cloth and have bought/sold thousands of yards of all 4 versions (Including Mini suited) for the past 12 years.

The Chinese cloth ( about $4 a foot) is extremely inconsistant in pattern, water resistance, threading, design, feel and wear.
We dont even carry the stuff, we use to at one time.

We only carry the American made cloth because its everything the China cloth isnt.

The newly designed cloth is IMO a better version of the american cloth because the pattern is crisper, softer, more water resistant and more consistant then even the american cloth.

But is it softer? If I have one complaint about SSC it is that it's very stiff - like playing on a new pair of "Toughskins" jeans.

The samples feel softer to the touch, but I won't really know until I get a full table done with it or at least a piece bigger than 4"x4".

x100, the Chinese close is terrible, both in looks and feel.

In my experience, the feel and glide of the US speedcloth varies slightly by the roll and possibly by color. I've found the solid colors glide like an air hockey table, and the 2 tone colors like blackberry or platinum are a hair slower and a little more coarse (glide is still better tham most other cloths). Not sure if that has anything to do with using 2 different threads for the 2 tone or if its just in my head, lol. The mini-suited version is the best (both softer and faster) of the "off the roll" options, and the white SSC used for printing custom cloths is the nuts, soft and fast. My 2 pennies worth, YMMV.

And I prefer my SSC kryptonite free.... :whistling:

Note this is all for the older version of the cloth, I haven't got my samples of this new one yet but it looks promising.

@Tommy the red SSC on your new insert is from YAT.

Hopefully someone will post a YouTube vid soon. Would be great to see these tables in action.

I can send you samples, if you like? That goes for any builder, make sure I have your address.

Any more pics or reviews on this cloth?

I fully concur with Irish's assessment ^above.

I haven't had a chance to check out the newest stuff. Tony/Nick, will it be available in low-contrast colors as well?

Got my samples today, looks to be an improvement on the standard SSC, definitely a bit softer (not quite as soft/smooth as the white SSC for custom cloths). I like the blue & gold colors. Any other colors planned for the future?

Is the platinum too contrasty? (If that's a word)

There are lots of sites that sell SSC. How do you know which type it is? (China or USA)

Any updates on this SSC? Has anyone done a build?

None yet, I'll probably have one in a few weeks.

I've got two tables worth of this fancy new SSC..and all the other bits, waiting to go. Not sure when we're doing a build (friend has all the tools) but I'll post pics when done. Maybe even a video demonstrating card glide.

Not sure, still figuring it out, probably a 42 X 84 table or a 44 X 96 table.

The SSC is less of a concern but it would be great if its precut (cost?), but I was curious if whisper vinyl rails came precut too.
