Welp, I pulled the trigger on a shuffler. Have an ST-1000 that should arrive before my January game. My plan is to have it on a side table next to my dealer. Any advice for first time use? I have seen differing views on what cards to use... I have a few Copag setups in poker size.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts, and for your condolences to my wallet. Joining this forum has cost me quite a bit of money in a short period of time.

Congrats!

Set it to auto shuffle mode. You hold either 3 or 7 (for the shuffle you want) for 5 seconds until the light blinks green. It starts to shuffle immediately after you drop in the cards. Stick to poker size cards to minimize any issues.

Be prepared to have your players complain about the noise but it can largely be ignored - they'll forget about it after a few hands.

Echoing @jamesjkim on poker sized deck and auto shuffle mode. Also make sure it’s not set to eject in the pull out drawer, I like taking it out from up top when the shuffle is done. Just make sure to clean at end of night also :)

I started with auto-shuffle but have moved to just manually pressing 3 (and the occasional 7 every now and then). Feel like squaring the deck a bit in the machine before shuffles has helped a bit to have no jams.
Agree. I like pushing 3/7 throughout the night and setting the cards nicely.

I got my ShuffleTech about a year ago, and it has completely elevated my game. I’ve received more compliments on the ShuffleTech than on my Paulson chips, tables, or cards—it’s genuinely a fantastic investment! I installed mine in a custom cabinet, which helps reduce noise significantly. Honestly, I’ve never understood the complaints about it being too loud to use. To me, it’s an incredible tool for the game.

I use poker-sized Copag cards, and while I do encounter a few jams during each session, they’re easy to fix and not a big deal. Overall, the ShuffleTech is an awesome addition to my setup, and I highly recommend it. Enjoy!

Opened up the box last night and tested it out. My wife deals when I host a 2TT about once a quarter. I thought she was going to scoff at this pretty hard. After opening up the box and showing her, she was pretty stoked for January's game. The box I was going to place it in is just a bit too small, but a test run didn't sound too loud. We usually have 12-16 people playing, so the noise level will get lost in the crowd.

My wife asked how much I spent on it, and I was a little embarrassed... I told her that I just need to win the next couple tournaments and it will have paid for itself.

Haven't played with it yet, other than running a few test shuffles.

Toying with the idea of mounting it in my Barrington table. Has anyone done that before? And how much of a pain is it to disassemble when I want to fold my table back up?

There's a lot of examples out there of people mounting it both for personal use and in lower-volume cardrooms that can't afford Deckmate-tier equipment. They all use the flush-mount kit supplied by ST - haven't heard of many custom jobs myself.
