March Madness next week, and this will be my 5th or 6th consecutive year going with my kids.
Although at 33, 31, and 28 some would not be calling them kids.
And today is my bday, btw.

Let me get to the point---I've been obsessed with collecting, watching sales, addicted to poker chips for a long time, but didn't find this ( and other ) site until sept of last year, so this is the first year I'm going with chips in my eyes. This site has taken this curiosity to another level, and I can see all of you nodding your heads.

Going to Spinettis and I'm wondering a couple of things.
Are there chips at the store not listed on their site?
Do they negotiate?
Is it a fun store?

More questions as I think about stuff.

Not had any dealings with spinettis, but check out www.apachepokerchips.com for more options and price comparisons, they are based in Las Vegas (or near there). Give Josh a call and see what he has in stock.

Happy birthday!!! Never been to Vegas, but heard amazing things.

Good luck with your trip. First of all Happy Birthday! What a great place to spend a birthday which I did last month.

Now, where are you staying?

Welcome to the obsession!
Now to answer some of your questions.....
Spinettis is a must see when you are in Vegas. Mikko is great to deal with and has many, many chips to choose from.
No I believe he has other chips that are stashed so if there is anything you are specifically looking for send him an email or call before you go.
Not sure of this and would not want to misspeak here.
It is fun if you have the obsession! Much more to look at. Literally hundreds upon hundreds of chips!

Spinettis is a very nice store. Friendly folks and lost of collector chips and cards. Very fun to visit.

Go through the Gamblers' General Store first, so you view the ordinary stuff (they do have a decent assortment of poker books) before hitting Spinetti's for the quality goods. They're only about 100 yards apart.

Never been in the store, but have spent a (few) bucks with them over the phone, email, and web site. I found that if you are buying a quantity of something, you have more negotiation room, if just a few chips, probably not so much. I would check Mikko's web site, eBay, and the vendor forum to search for what you want (or didn't know you wanted) and if he is offering any deals. My experience is that sometimes, things might not be available online, but asking might give different results.

Enjoy the hunt,

They won't negotiate in store. But Mikko will offer discounts for bulk purchases in advance, which you then can pick up in store. On display they have hundreds of singles and more in binders.

Fun store? I dunno. ;)

Not sure about at the store, but they definitely have inventory available that isn't listed on their site. If you're looking for something specific, your best bet is to email them and provide a list/description of what you're looking for. Sometimes I've gone to them saying I'm looking for X quantity of chips in a certain color/spot pattern, and they come back to me with options.

Do they negotiate?

Not to my knowledge, but they do frequently give bulk discounts, particularly when buying sets or multiple racks of a specific chip.

Is it a fun store?

As long as you have money to buy something and/or can appreciate window shopping, it's a blast! Otherwise it's the definition of hell.
I go there every Vegas trip & never fail to find something of interest to walk away with. Last time it was a near mint Desert Inn snapper...yum!
