Online Home Poker (5 Viewers)

Poker Mavens is an HTML website. It runs on your PC, Mac, Tablet, Phone, Kindle Fire, etc ... Last night, I had Zoom in gallery mode on my PC while I had my Android tablet in landscape mode running Poker Mavens on my desk.
I may need to do some more research on this option. Thanks.

I'll post some images in a minute, but in general:
  • Open "Windows Firewall" from your start menu. You can just type that in and it will search for the right thing to open
  • You want to create a new Inbound Rule
  • Create a rule for ports 8087-8088 and allow it for all zones.

This worked perfectly! Thank you so much for the assistance. I can't believe this is actually working

Something you may need to configure in Poker Mavens for cash games is sit out time. Default time is 10 minutes, and default setting of no relaxed sit out will remove a player from the table regardless of whether other players are waiting for a seat or not.

Last night a player had to sit out for 12-15 minutes, and were kicked off after 10 minutes. When they came back they had to buy back in at the table. Because of the max buy in setting I had enabled, they had to leave a whole pile of their winnings from earlier off the table (inadvertent rat holing). I've since enabled relaxed sit out (won't kick a player off table unless another player is on the wait list) and extended the sit out time to allow for longer breaks.
Thank you - I was kicked out while waiting for the BB after putting kids to bed and couldn’t figure out what had happened and Max buyin for the table was less than my stack at the time.

But it's CPU only, correct? I don't want to sit at my computer or have my laptop on my lap. I'd much rather have a mobile device.
The server software (the program that runs everything) is based on your home computer, or if you want, you can put it on an Amazon Web Server (AWS), but that's not needed if you are only running a couple of games at a time.

The client interface (the actual table screen that everybody plays on) can be accessed by any device that has a web browser (phone, tablet, laptop, desktop, smart TV, you name it). I run both from my home computer because I like a larger screen, but nothing is preventing you from running the server on your home computer (laptop or desktop) and then playing on your phone.

I'm running Lite also. You can host one tournament AND one cash game at the same time (max 10 players for each).

A word of warning for anyone running a tournament with Poker Mavens. If you have rebuys enabled and someone goes to click on it after busting out, they'll need to have enough in their account too cover the rebuy.

If they don't, they're automatically booted with no 2nd chance. On my game, I'm letting everyone go negative in their balance (it's a system option) so that they don't mistakenly lose their rebuy.

The only other option I see is to ensure they don't hit rebuy until you've put more money in their account to cover it. You only get like 60 seconds too...

Then again, they could just buy in for more than the tournament costs, assuming they'll need to rebuy.
I tell everyone to fund their account with entry, rebuy and addon to cover this exact problem.

Best advice I've ever gotten from you. Running my first full ring currently and just had everyone send me what they thought they might buy in for if they bust once or twice. Saved me a lot of hassle.

Anyone know how to as a player make sure losing hands are automucked? My players are asking. The settings -> table options -> check automuck doesnt seem to get it done.

These settings reset everytime you restart the software - so look if there is a global setting.

Yeah..people say they have it on but it doesn't seem to be working. they'll call, the bettor will show a winner, and theirs will show the loser.

Just personally confirmed it's not working in a boat over boat hand :(

Let me know if anyone solves this one on Mavens.

We noticed the same thing last night. It kept showing cards and we weren't sure why. I prefer to unselect Auto Muck and click the button on what I want to do.

On Mavens, What's the best method to get 6-7 players seated with chips without it auto starting the game? (Currently it takes only 2 seated players to autostart). I know you can click "Sit Out Next Hand," but it's impossible to pre-select it.

pause the table on the game server and manually start it

No way to do this. From the developer - sit down and quickly sit out. Only way.

I'm positive that I paused the game sever but when it was on pause, no one could sit down. I'm new to the system though, maybe I did something wrong or out of order.
I'm pretty sure that in a cash (ring) game, it always auto starts when 2 players are seated. If you pause the table, it prevents other players from taking a seat at that table (or at least it did for me). If there is another way, I'd like to know it.

I guess a work around would be to have each player take a seat one at a time and then sit out the next hand. That way there is only one active player at the table at a time. Once everybody is seated, everybody click the "I'm Back" button.

In a tournament you have a variety of start options - when a set number of players register and are logged in, at a set time, when a set number of players select the start button, or manually.

I am pretty sure also.

As above for .25/.50 ring games with min buyin of $20, default of $40 and max $100 most are Venmo-ing me between $80 and $100 to make rebuys easier. Also 90% of players are not cashing out at the end of night but keeping the balance with me for next week’s game.

don't pause the server, pause the table. I did it tonight.

Indeed, this is possible (table not server)
You can also set a fixed start time and allow registrations

We are using PM for 3 weeks now...working perfect and going to upgrade soon.
Let me know if someone has troubles....

Only thing lacking is dealers choice
