This weekend I took my family to dinner in Titusville, then we went to a nearby park and watched a Falcon 9 launch. We were on the water about 15 miles from the pad and had a great view.
We can see these from my backyard (and often do, especially the night launches), but being this close is even better.

Read the story and it sounds like they don't know much yet. The alligator may have just found the corpse and decided to have a meal - fatal alligator attacks are extremely uncommon.
