Is there a recommendation for good contrast between the Classic Culture decks? We play double decks on the table and I want to make sure to get a good contrast.

Just ordered cards but didn’t choose colors. Would love Brown and Orange if at all possible?

The colors are only an option on the Classic Culture, in case you ordered the Casino as I had suggested in your other thread.

Certainly. Gray with pink, yellow, or orange. Orange/yellow, brown/pink or yellow provide a good mix.

Green/Orange combo probably my favorite alternate after the Red/Blue.
Sorta like this...

QUESTION: I'm thinking about ordering a setup of the Desjgn Bridge Size Jumbo Index cards. How big are the Jumbo PIPs on these? Are they KEM Jumbo Index huge, or more moderately large like Fournier Bridge cards? For me, KEM Bridge size jumbo index pips are just too damn big.

Can anyone who has both post a side-by-side comparison of a KEM bridge size jumbo index and Desjgn Bridge jumbo index?

Thanks!

Got my Classic Cultures into play last night for the first time, really love these cards! Design is fantastic (of course), but the card feel is awesome too. These are my favorite of the Desjgn brand so far. Are the KS Bridge Jumbo's being re-printed on this stock? If so, can't wait to get a few set ups!

You will like the size of the indices—not even close to KEMs. They are on par with Fournier or Copag for jumbo index size.

Hey, Jason. I received the two setups of the Casinos. They are excellent. They do, however, feel like a totally different deck than my Classic Culture setups. The Classic Cultures have a much smoother texture and perhaps a tad less flexy, whereas the Casinos have more of a sandpaper feel to them. The Casinos are pin straight, whereas the Classic Cultures tend to want to bow in the opposite direction of how you flex them to do a traditional shuffle (see pics). I'm guessing Mo*&^no made the Casinos - they feel just like Modianos around the edges when you first pick them up, but that's where the similarities end. The Casino stock is clearly different from the Classic Culture stock. The Classic Cultures appear to have a better quality cut as is evident by examining the corner edges. The Casino cut is slightly rougher around with a less uniform cut, while the Classic Cultures feature a perfect cut with the corner of every card being absolutely identical.

Now, to be clear, I LOVE both of these decks. I tend to favor the smoother texture of the Classic Cultures, but I don't care for lack of uniformity flexing them in one direction vs. the other. They shuffle like a dream upside down, but slightly more effort is needed to shuffle them face down. The Casinos, on the other hand are pin straight and offer an equal amount of resistance when flexed in either direction. so I like them better overall.

So, Jason. Can you comment on these differences? I guess for me, the absolute ideal deck would be one with the Classic Culture stock (smoother texture and more precisely cut), but with the pin straight shape and uniform flex of the Casinos

Finally, both of my Classic Culture setups have this tendency to want to more in one direction than the other. Do you have any Classic Cultures that don't do this? If so, I'd be all over them.

Thank you in advance for considering my inquiries.

Hi Mike. Yes those are the differences that you see between what was produced between the two manufacturers. I do not think that the slight bow is in all of the Culture decks, even across the 10 back colors that were once offered. It was only recently brought to my attention with the gray backs. In that same conversation, shuffling was brought up too, however, techniques on shuffling vary from person to person and this said customer found a different method that worked better face down for his gray deck.

I have heard both positives from those who like the smooth feel of the Cultures and the slight texture on the Casino stock. I know I cannot please everyone on this preference, however I appreciate that you like the smooth feeling of the Cultures more.

The Classic Baroque (reprint designs that are coming this month in Bridge/Jumbo Index) are on the Culture stock and are pin straight.
