$0.10/$0.25 NL fast fold 6-max with $25 BI. No reads as play is anonymous.
Hero is shot-taking this month, moving up from a profitable month playing 5NL Zone to 25NL Zone.

Hero is effective stack with $27.55
Hero is in BB with :9c: :9h:
Action folds to Villain in SB who raises to 3BB / $0.75

Hero?

Hmmmm... SBs tend to pretty tight in Zone/Zoom. But 99 is just so good I can't imagine not 3 betting the majority of the time. You can mix in a call here and there though.

3 betting just seizes control and gets a lot of cbet and fold scenarios.

This is blind v blind and can absolutely be a steal. The 3 bet is automatic unless there is broad metagame reasons to change. But since this is zoom, there is not such thing as metagame implications. :)

I like a 3-4x sizing in this sort of pot, so I would go for $2.50-3.

I'm not even considering flatting for metagame reasons. Just for balance. And I'm talking like at most 10% of the time just flatting.

Hero flats. I wish I could say it is for balance but it's because I need to spend more time studying BB play.

Pot is $1.50 and flop comes
:5d::4c::4d:

And V bets 1/2 pot or $0.72.

Hero?

I like trever's bet of $2.50.

You're in position and you got a wet all under flop, which I think is a good thing for us. So it would be a good spot to take control of the hand and charge any draws or overs that missed.

Your opponent should have missed this flop pretty hard. But your hand is still vulnerable to overs. Raise flop, likely pot control turn if called and checked to.

Hero's plan was to X/R as I think V missed this flop and so hero raises to $2.16 which is 3x V's flop bet of $0.72.
Villain calls :(
Pot is $5.82 and turn is :kh:
Villain checks
Board is :5d::4c::4d::kh:
Hero?

Villain could easily peel with a Broadway hand with a diamond or a flush draw. Could also have all the pocket pairs you beat and the bigger ones you don't beat. Seems like the exact kind of turn you just check back and hope he checks river. Depending on the river card and bet size you might want to call or fold. But you are really hoping to just check down at this point.

You could also as an exploit go for a reverse blocker bet. Bet a smallish amount here to try and buy a check/check river. It also acts as a bit of protection against flush draws and random non-K broadways. May occasionally get him off TT.

Hero departs from conventional wisdom here.
Hoping that Villain called with a flush draw which missed on the turn, Hero fires a 3/4 pot bet of $4.15. I would have 3-bet a premium hand preflop, removing AA, KK, QQ, JJ, AK, AQ from my range. I did flat in the BB and X/R so maybe V puts me on Ax of diamonds and assumes the K doesnt improve my hand. I think this was spewy and should have checked.

Villain calls. Hero not liking this call. I think I should have checked as calling the check raise is pretty strong.

Pot is $14.12. River is :6s:. Villain checks - Hero?

I don't know why you would do anything except check here. He's answered every question so far, I'd just see where I stand.

Betting would be a pure bluff at this point unless you think he's really getting sticky with 66-88. Just check and hope to win.

Hero checks. I did consider jamming as I think at this point it is likely I am behind and checking means I lose. But I checked.
V shows :tc::th: for the win.

Oh sick showdown. Check was probably right, but man, it's tempting to wonder if one more shell would have done it when you get beat by the hand one pip better.
