Im contemplating selling off another Tourney set which does not see enough felt time. I have 1100 Paulson Grand Card Rooms on the Suits Mold. This set was designed for up to 40 players with T5000 starting stacks or smaller fields with larger starting stacks/rebuys. These are all Gold Foil with no warping issues.

Breakdown:
320 x 25
320 x 100
200 x 500
140 x 1000
120 x 5000
plus extras of each denom

I am not interested in splitting up the set or just selling certain denominations (even at premium prices), so please do no ask. I would consider selling as two sets, if both were spoken for. I have not seen these come up for sale in some time, so not sure of current prices. I am asking $3040 for the lot (plus shipping) I would like to hear thoughts on pricing, but I most likely won't be discounting below my asking price, as I'll just keep them. Willing to ship International.

I'd ballpark market value at around $2.50/chip max at the moment, and may take some time to get that price. Appeal of hot-stamps and solids seems to be on the decline lately.

I have a similar set (1000 chips, silver foil) that never sees play, but I'm holding onto for now.... for those ^^ exact reasons.

And here's another with 1,600 that went for $3,600. Also $2.25 per chip...

I'd say the $2.50 price estimate by @BGinGA is a bit high given current market trends, but there are some new GCR buyers that I could see spending that to complete their sets. YMMV

Thanks for the links. I should mention that mine are Orange 1000's and Yellow 5000's. Not sure if the opposite scheme had any impact on that recent sale.

Great set! I think the breakdown is perfect.
I don't understand why these sell for $2-$3 per chip, yet BCC Fun Nites sell for less than a buck a chip.
I get that generally Paulsons are worth more than BCC's. And I get that "Fun Nite" isn't the most desired hot stamp. But I've also always assumed that the suits mold wasn't a favored mold. Am I wrong about that?
If I had no reference of past sales for these particular chips, I'd value them at something like a buck fifty apiece.

I think your comparing apples to oranges. If comparing Paulson Fun Nites to Paulson GCR's I much prefer the GCR stamp. BCC GCR vs. Paulson GCR, I prefer suits mold over Sun Mold. Paulson Fun Nite vs BCC Fun Nite, I think Paulson is preferred both by feel and brighter colors, though I can't say Ive ever handled the paulson version. I can't really speak to pricing for the BCC chips.

Totally agree with every point. (y)

What floors me is fantasy chips on the crappy PAULSON CHIPS mold selling for stupid-high prices. The suits GCR chip sets are tons nicer, imo.

Agreed! I assume its because there are so many more fantasy set chips in the wild, there should be a much bigger pool of buyers?

They are still awesome chips. Someone should just buy it. There's gotta be some big spenders here.

I don't.
For what it's worth, I expect most people would agree with all the opinions you wrote, and that probably explains the price difference.
But calling it apples to oranges is mighty picky, considering the accessible population of clay hot-stamped tournament sets is so narrow. Which is why I stand by my point. Or question.
I don't mean to thread-jack, but it seemed relevant.

I don't mind the conversation in this thread, but I guess Im not understanding your logic. You are comparing two different manufacturers, on two different molds, with two different stamp designs and saying they have more similarities than differences just because they are both hot stamped solids. Inlaid TRKs are pretty rare in general, but they are not all in the same class.

Aha! Maybe the reason I think they should be priced similarly is because, TO ME, they're very similar. I see all the differences you point out, those differences just aren't that significant to me.

Surprised nobody posted the "I'll give you a dollar" meme.

And in that respect, you would likely prefer a BCC fun nite at $1 to these at $2.50. But many people don't feel that way, hence the large disparity in market price between the two chips.

Of all the Paulson home molds, this and the Sidepot mold (Noir?) are the only molds I like. That said, I can see someone paying $2+ for these, but I could never pay that much for solids. If I'm paying over $2 per chip, I would want the Avalon or Private Cardroom spotted chips.

Regarding BCC -- I just received 2 samples today of the Fun Nite's. The mold is very similar to the RHC mold. Similar, but I would think most won't find the sunburst looks as nice as the H&C or Small Crown molds. The feel is very nice though and I might buy some if funds permit. Especially at the prices they have been sitting at, I think they're a steal. I do see how some might not like the text 'Fun Nite'. Again, doesn't bother me.

I removed a bunch of posts discussing price, but feel free to to PM @ssanel54 with any pricing inquiries or comments.

That was not necessary. I invited the pricing discussion into the thread to get opinions. I am not overly concerned with selling these, but I appreciate you looking out.

I would like to hear thoughts on pricing

I'm confused. Is discussion on pricing not allowed even when it's explicitly asked for by the OP?

Edit: looks like the OP already responded before I hit post.

I undeleted the posts.

Sorry, it's early. Didn't see that comment by OP. Thread-crapping is like the high point of any mod's day, and to experience that at 8am got me all antsy in my pantsy.

For what it's worth, my feeling is that the market dictates price. He likely listed them around the price he paid, but if it's too high for the current market, they won't sell and Scott can either lower the price until it's just right for someone or decide to hold until a time when prices are at an optimal level.

GLWS!
