Not Mine Paulson Tophat & Cane 750 Full Clay Chips with Mahogany Case (1 Viewer)

I ordered a set on my Amazon card.

Taking off my 5% Amazon discount and then $80 for the case (which I was considering buying anyway), I'm paying $1,069 for 750 chips, about $1.43 each.

If it doesn't get cancelled. (And if they're not legit, I'll cancel it.)

Absolutely no chance that these ship. I saw similar listing show up a couple of years ago when I was actively trying to acquire these and they were sold out everywhere else. I placed an order and a couple of months later received a notice that they were cancelling my order as the product was not available. Zero harm in trying, but definitely don't get your hopes up.

I know the ad says "Tophat & Cane," but those look like the spot progression that was made on the Paulson Chips mold, not a Tophat & Cane mold.

I believe this was a deal put together by Trademark for a chip line called "Tophat & Cane" but which was never on THC mold.
Just for the record, the PAULSON CHIPS mold does contain top hat & cane markings.

The chips in question are commonly referred to as Paulson Classics.

@BGinGA is correct (as always!). I've had the classics for many years. Two top hat and cane images in the mold (between the "Paulson Chips"). Also subtle top hat and canes shadow in the inlays.

This may be a situation where Amazon knows from searches that they can get 30-60 or more orders in a couple months of an " out of stock" item, and then go to the Mfgr & place a large order .. they probably do that with lots of items, some they are able to get from the Mfgrs & fill, others get cancelled when they can't have the Mfgr do another production run ...

How do these Paulson Classics feel, anyway? They seem to have a really high ratio of clay to inlay. Too high?

I had an Amazon pop up add this a.m. When I open it the ad now says that the item is unavailable.

I had a set of these and personaly liked the feel MUCH more than the any of the other Paulson home market chips.
They were the first "nice" set i owned and were my gateway chip.
At the time i loved the bright colors and easy to read denominations. I never considered them ugly, and really enjoyed breaking them out to play with. But after playing with and then owning real used casino chips, they had to go to make room.

I'm not sure why they felt so different to the other home market chips. But its was night and day for me.

Speaking from experience, or speculation?

It's been marked unavailable with no restock date for a week, now, but my order is still live.

Ive had many items like this get cancelled. After about 4 weeks they just cancel it with no explanation.

:( ... was rooting hard for you and so so wanted this to happen, as unlikely as it may have looked.
