I'm tempted to build a set, but hesitant to commit the funds so soon after my troubles. If I had to resell them again, it might just give up altogether and find a different hobby, like roulette. (the Russian variant...)
 
I was tempted prior to any of the feeding frenzy posts, but I've got enough (?!) sets right now. Almost PM'd him for this 1000 chip PCA set:

100 x .50 secondaries

400 x $5
200 x $25
100 x $100

Sort of kicking myself now that I think about it more. Dammit. :confused:

I replied to his ad a few minutes after he posted it on CT (yesterday) and made him an offer to buy the majority of the PCA secondaries he had for sale. I didn't hear back for several hours, so I just assumed someone else beat me to sending him a PM and/or offered to buy them all (or perhaps offered him above asking price). But eventually I did hear back from him and he confirmed that I was the first one to send him a message and he gave me his payment info. Didn't hear back until late this morning that he received the payment from the afternoon before, which got me a little nervous since he hasn't been an active member at CT or here. However, as far as I can tell it all seems to be legit.
 
I'll make sure I'll never, ever reply to anything from that poster again... Called for the chips seconds after the ad and sent him quite a few PMs without any response whatsoever...

I agree...but @CT/CPC there is almost ALWAYS someone faster :) and you don't know when PM's were sent.
He is not a regular and it's obvious in his pricing & the way he handled the sale.
The latter wil cost him a few $100

I hear you... I bought thousand of chips there and here and I know how things go... There's no rigid rules and people can do as they please... My point is not to say what's right or wrong, each one of us have a different idea about that... My point is that my ONLY recourse against members who "I" believe don't play fair is to never deal with them again, that's all...

fwiw i think he just got overwelmed with all the pms. he was apologetic about the time it took to get back to me. not trying to make excuses for him.
 
I think the only problem was late replies due to the reason phaze12 mentioned. Chips are sold on first come first served, which is fair. I could only get some of the PCA's I wanted, so I decided not to buy and let someone else get it.
 
He posted on the thread this afternoon, with an updated list of what is left. Looks to me that he dealt with the chum-filled waters as best he could. At least you guys could send him a PM in the first place. #futen

Nice pickup, Dan. What did you end up getting?

I don't disagree with you that the seller on CT handled his sale poorly (to say the least). But for what it's worth, I sent him a PM 4 minutes before you posted on his for sale thread. I don't know why he never responded to you at all. Like I said, he didn't really handle this whole situation well in terms of communication (though I don't think he deserved to be hit by a bus for his missteps). As others have said, he might have been somewhat overwhelmed by the number of message I presume he received.

That said, I'm not looking to be a part of any hostile feeling as a result of this sale. If you, @ChaosRock and @acl1904 want, I'll gladly split up the chips I bought with you guys in an attempt to make everyone happy, or at least as happy as possible under the circumstances.

Pretty extreme Michael, and unwarranted imo. He sold to the first responder. It wasn't you.
