Two cigar questions for y'all...

1) If looking for a just a nice, smooth smoke, what's you're go-to stick? Nothing harsh, nothing crazy...just nice n' smooth n' easy.

2) The first time I went to Vegas after I turned 21 I hit a $60 "jackpot" on a nickle machine in Bally's, then went right to the cigar shop, got my self a vanilla cigar, and plopped myself down in the Keno lounge with that & a pina colada thinking I just hit it big (in truth, I've never played the slots again). Since then I've always enjoyed vanilla cigars. Many folks shun the flavored cigars, but if you had to recommend one, what would be your favorite vanilla-flavored stick?

For a nice casual cigar try the A Fuente 858 or the 858 Sun Grown. Inexpensive, smooth and plentiful.

I'll +1 this. The 8-5-8 is a great stick for the $$$ and is a staple for poker nights as it is cheap enough for a rookie who will only smoke 1/4 of it, and good enough for those who like cigars.

I believe young Bush was a 858 guy, I prefer the Sun Grown version.

good easy smooth smoke...i used to smoke Rocky Patel Decades..they were the smoothest smoke i've ever had, but they have changed the filler in them like 6 years ago, and they are not nearly as good, but the ones i had pre2008 were really good...they were rather pricey though...around $10/stick..(this is pricey for me since theres soo many good smokes under $8) If you dont mind pricey sticks...i'd look at some davidoffs or Ashtons. Those are usually pretty mild, not too peppery, draw well and are well made...no "canoeing"

Vanilla cigars?..CAO vanilla is okay.....i used to smoke some acids..they okay for a novety smoke..usually i'd have one on the back porch with cup of coffee.....but I would not smoke a flavored cigar around other cigar smokers since the smell can altar the flavors of other cigars.

I had one at my game on Friday night. Awesome cigar.

All the cigar talk got me in the mood to fire up a pipe tonight.

Hell yeah! Look at what I received today from @CraigT78 . Just awesome.

I purchased his sample sets and he threw in these awesome cigars for me to enjoy!

Very cool of him to do this and unexpected but I do appreciate them all very much and will be properly stored in my humidor. These will also be smoked when the time is right.

Thank you again Craig!

Below you will see the following cigars.
The two white bands are Cuban cigars.

A Liga Privada a by Drew Estate

A New World by A J Fernandez

A Fuente which is one of my favorite cigars to smoke!(y)

One on the right looks like a Partagas Serie D. Best cuban I've ever had. I left it in the humidor for 6 months and I could have literally eaten the thing it was that good.

I've had my fair share of fakes while on cruises and I lucked into finding a real Serie D in an out of the way shop. I only buy at La Casa Del Habano now to be sure I'm getting the real stuff.

Wow another pipe smoker!

I haven't smoked cigars or my pipes in a while since I moved to va. I got some sealed tins I'm willing to share if you're interested
What's your tobacco of choice? English blends, Virginias, aromatics? If you ever make it to the post we can smoke a pipe together.

Very nice, this is an area I have yet to try!
I actually have my wife to thank for it. She hates the smell of cigars but loves the smell of pipes. When we got married she bought my first one as a gift. She will sit outside with me if I smoke a pipe.

I like a little of everything. Depends on the mood and weather but mostly virginians. I'm not big in aromatics since I come from a cigar background I like stong flavors and rich smoke. I like more oldschool blends and usually buy tins. Dunhill, solani, Mac baron, McClelland etc.

I've only smoked a pipe since 2014 and haven't touched it in a year and a half so I'm still pretty new. I bought a bunch of tobacco right before I moved but havent touched it.

I'd loves to make it out to a meet sometime but I have no idea when that would be. Ive only played cards once in the past year and a half. Just too busy with little ones right now. Although that hasn't stopped me buying chips. It has stopped me smoking though

1) Drew Estate Undercrown Shade is my current non harsh, non crazy go to smoke. It's perfect for a Saturday morning on the porch with a cup of coffee. It's a more mild bodied smoke that still has some complexity to it.

2) Check out CAO flavors. They have a Bella Vanilla flavor, as well as a Moontrance flavor that was more on the Vanilla side. I don't like many flavored cigars, but the CAO line is good enough to suffer through.

1 - I love the Macanudo Cafe for a smooth, Sunday morning smoke.

2 - Big fan of the CAO line overall. Personal favorite flavored stick to this point though would be the Nub Espresso Sumatra. I smoke Nubs almost exclusively now, 3-5x/weekly. Even the wife loves this flavor.

My father in law partially filled my humidor for my birthday/Father's Day with Thompson Cigar Rum and Cognac Explorers, which have grown on me as an after dinner smoke. Pretty cheap too.

Glad I stumbled onto this thread!

Looking forward to this afternoon - yard work, followed by a patio session with a beer and cigar! Anyone else ponder what they will be smoking later?

Smoking a 601 Steel paired with Founders Centennial IPA while grilling on the deck. I have nearly smoked 2 and half boxes in the last 2 weeks. I've got to slow down.
