Greetings chipaholics.

As the title states, I'll be commissioning exactly one more set from CPC before they cut off orders in April. Prior to their announcement I had planned to have them produce TWO more sets: an inlayed set for cash, and a hotstamped set for tourney. This would not have happened until 2026 though.

Both would have employed the same historic theme which is shown below:

I believe this flag was first flown in Texas at the Battle of Gonzales in 1835.

Given the sad CPC news though, I had to make some sacrifices in order to afford even one set by April:
1) Scratch the cash set.
2) Tourney set will be inlayed.
3) The tourney set will employ less expensive spot patterns than I'd initially selected.

The order wills include enough to support three full tables plus rebuys/color-ups.

I own the inlay art as of today, so here is your first look:

The CPC closure news was at least countered with the fact that they are allowing us to order chips on Ewing mold which is what the set above will actually be.

One of the Ewing samples I received from Dave at CPC was the inspiration for selecting the half pies. The spots I initially had for the first three chips were 314. I'm liking this change much better.

Well, that's it folks. When I'm about ready to order I'll post a sample order thread in the classifieds.

I love that 100k chip. For me there's an optical illusion that makes the charcoal look like a dark green and at first I could not tell what the spot color is. Very cool.

I kinda see what you're saying actually. Will be interesting to see if that's true when seeing them in person.

Getting quantities finalized before the order:

The above will support 24 players with rebuys at T50000.

I'm torn between the above breakdown which provides for more chips in starting stacks, or a hyper-efficient breakdown or one of 10/4/7/8 which will save me close to $500. :bigbucks:

I want MOAR CHIPZ... but also don't want to break the bank.

Rather than keep the sample order thread updated, I'm going to post info on the status here. That'll keep me from continuing to get new PMs asking for samples.

The order is in, and I got this info from Dave:

I knew it was going to be a while, but... DAMN.

The final design for reference (given it's not shown in this thread):

(on Ewing, not CSQ)

Will post the proof when Dave gets it to me.

Ok... given this set will arrive in sep/oct of this year; I need ideas on how to pass the time.

My current top 5:

1) Drink heavily.
2) #1 plus take up birdwatching
3) #1 plus read an entire encyclopedia
4) #1 plus create a plan for world peace (not "whirled peas").
5) #1 plus clean out the garage

I'm so confused.

Did you get an Ewing sample? CPC may still have some. I put it right up there with CSQ and Scrown. I can't comment on how it compares to DSQ given I've never handled any.

I am not always the biggest fan of the half and half chips but the angled orientation is awesome, and nice color scheme across the board! The only issue now is the wait.

There are obviously many examples of either vertical or horizontal half pies out there. Though a lot of them look cool, I wasn't happy when considering that orientation for my own set. The diagonal breaks up the monotony a bit; making them a little more spontaneous or interesting in appearance.

Regarding the wait..... F*CK.

It is a great look and I personally haven’t seen it before. I think you are right it takes a simple and clean design and gives it a little more flash, not bad at all.

Just a general update: we're almost two months in since the order date. I emailed Dave regarding when the proof would come in and received this:

8 months of orders. Dang.

I decided I want CSQ. I could have DSQ, but the stack thickness issues are killing me. Plus I want more hot-stamp area on the chip...

Just don't care... You know perfectly well that later you will regret not taking more. Although I always thought it was stupid to have denominations that sit in a box and do not participate in games.

3 months down. I have set mockup on my pc's backdrop so I see it every day. I think having such is a form of self-torture.
