I was thinking used blurple looks darker, but this seems different

There are two variations of the blue/purple chips. Most of the darker purples are evenly used and was probably part of an earlier run.

The lighter color are only slightly used and was probably a later reorder in which resulted in color variation.

I find it interesting that a lot of the California card rooms (Casino Royale comes to mind) decided to put the denoms on only one side. Or are these non denominational?
