Hey everyone,

Anyone have any good suggestions for poker game playlists. Spotify ideally

I let my players make requests. I get 30 songs a week and I just keep adding them.
The way I see it “poker music” or music to play poker by comes in two forms; songs that only talk about poker or money or gambling, and songs that the people in the room want to hear.

Take requests and build a playlist.

Carry on.

I always tell myself I’m going to curate a perfect playlist. I’m guessing it would only be perfect for me though. And while I notate music while listening, I never actually get a specific playlist built.

I think that playlists should have highlighted moods or genres, i.e. The Middle by Jimmy Eat World, C.R.E.A.M by Wu-Tang, and Pusherman by Curtis Mayfield should all be on the list, but shouldn’t all play sequentially.

Additionally, I think it’s meaningful to have it divided by those with entertaining music videos, and those without. That way if there’s downtime, time in between sporting events, or it’s slowing down at 2 am, there’s something for the nits folding pre every hand to watch.

Lastly, while I don’t believe it should be 1,000,000 songs on random, I do think it should cover a wide breadth of genres and decades, but be organized as such to include or omit any specifics/keywords. I.e., I should be able to pull in 90s alt/grunge and 90s hip hop/rap specifically, or pop and bubble pop from 1980-2020.

I ask if there is a genre folks want and then YT music from there.

I have several playlists that I add to regularly, but this one is the go to that seems to suit most people in our group. "Modern" Rock from the 90s through today, but admittedly heavily weighted towards the 2000s:

Even I was amazed how the transition between a standard from the 60's and an old Hip Hop classic is received. Covering the breadth and depth of music is important when you've got a cross-generational crew at the table. Genre's being well-covered is also important. I know there's more than a few players that don't mind hearing a Country song hit the juke box.

When the playlist was mine and mine alone of course I loved it. Opening up the selections to everyone and asking them to text me songs throughout the week involves them and they are pleased when one of their songs comes up. The "Soundtrack" playlist probably has between 500 and 600 songs on it.

Turn on, hit shuffle, fold your hand to my stone cold bluff.

Thanks everyone. Played with a few variations of these and it went over well!
