Poker Night Music (1 Viewer)

I like to use Amazon music on Alexa and get a 90's Alt, Classic Rock, or 90's Hip Hip Playlist going. I keep meaning to create an actual poker playlist but I never get around to it.

I make a different theme playlist for each night I host. I've done Buttrock, old school hip hop, emo/punk, eurobeat, and a few others I'm forgetting. Coming up is ska or Japanese city pop.

I actually listen to a lot of classical music while playing live.
Liszt, Chopin are some of my favs. I find the constant table talk of bad beats extremely annoying after a while.

Depends on who’s coming and whether I know what music will help tilt them. One of advantages of having such eclectic tastes.

But normally be 70s\80s.

I present to you The Good Times Poker Room playlist. 11 1/2 hours of rock music classics spanning 60’s-10’s sprinkled with rare tracks, grunge, new wave, prog rock, reggae. It was a big hit at my last game and it definitely helped create a fun social atmosphere. Enjoy.

We do bomb pots every 45 minutes and whoever wins one picks the music until the next one.

Uuuuuuuusually doesn’t create too much controversy. But if it gets weird I have been known to adjust the timer. No one has complained if the next bomb pot was 20 minutes away instead ;)

This is a fun game we play. And you're open for scrutiny. We pass the phone (usually my brother in laws) and you pic and play your song. We take turns, usually stream to the TV. Be prepared to be "Boooooooed". Lots of fun. Hehe.
^This. I've got a base playlist or two but in the end we take turns adding music to the queue. Works out quite nice, you get sort of side thing going on getting to hear some different styles of music and different tastes. There's an unspoken curtesy to not put anything to extreme (deep electronic, death metal, etc.) as to still maintain a generally nice atmosphere, but we get a nice range anyhow.

Spotify - Electric Guitar Blues Mix
Alvin Lee
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Garry Moore
Buddy Guy
ZZ Top
Robert Cray

Albert King
Etc

We use a playlist on Spotify called “Mobster Music” lol lot of Sinatra, James Dean, BB King, Johnny Cash, etc.

Late in the night we might throw Star Wars cantina band on loop for 20 minutes or so.

This but on Spotify. If I am really on the ball can skip a few, or hit the Like button when someone is really feeling it; algorithm does a pretty good job for us.

Occasionally to freshen it up, I'll ask for requests, but DJ becomes a distracting, and slippery slope, so pretty selective when that happens.
