If you're playing store chips or dice chips, you're probably not skilled enough with chip hunting to know how to spot a counterfeiter anyways.

if you're playing China Clay, don't buy a set that's easy to duplicate like the Milanos.

Majestics, Royals, Dunes or Pharaoh's is probably safe because you know they usually come from one source and your guy would have to know chips fairly well.

If you're playing low-end ceramics, like the Scroll or the Venerati or the Howdy, Cowboy -- then you might have a problem. Again, quality issues and only one real design makes this one fairly easy to duplicate, and I know at least in regards to the Scroll chips you can get those in many places.

If you're playing Ceramics, don't be afraid to customize the shit out of them. My Wicked Spades have my initials printed on them in addition to the dollar amount. It would cost a counterfeiter more than the cost of the amount he planned to steal to counterfeit them. My DDLM's are not only oversized but only two of the chips follow the original amounts. It would cost a lot for them to try this.

If you're playing Sunfly hybrids, now you probably have a chip aficionado in your employ. It's possible they would copy it but the odds are really low and practically nil if you do customs.

If you're playing with Paulsons, then screw it. Anyone who would spend $1000+ on a set to counterfeit deserves my respect.
