Ok, maybe I like tinkering, maybe I was bored, or a combo of both.
When I first got into Poker in 2008, I purchased a 10 seat table, with racetrack to sit in a dedicated room.

Initially, we played tourney hold'em, and it wasn't any problem filling the 10 seats.

After a year, we decided to go to cash games, and sitting 10 was restrictive, crowded, so at that time I decided to turn this 84" table into an 8 seater.
That meant redoing the racetrack, deleting 2 cup holders, raising the rail to add a difuser and adding a custom cloth. This is the results of that change.

Fast forward to a few years ago, changing to a Mirage cloth, still playing cash games.

in 2024, I decided to remove the racetrack, and move the cup holders to the rail.
This meant making a new wider rail to fit the jumbo cup holders, maintaining the difuser, and adding a new custom Mirage cloth, along with banquet chairs to replace the dining faux leather chairs.
I am very pleased how it turned out, and my players like the changes.

Nice improvements.

I had one of those tables back in 2008 as well. Built a wide selection of different tables since then and as it happens also have a 84" (x42")currently.

I like the 84" table due to the fact that even the corners arent too far from the action and can usually reach all the players when dealing.
I guess the downside is that sitting anymore than 8 is crowded IMO.

nice table
Thanks, always a work in progress...always thinking..lol Prior to my new rail with the cup holders, I did build under table snack trays to keep the sncks off the table proper. They work well, and they can close even with a bowl full of snacks. 8" sliders and a normal paper or platic bowl fits in the cut out.
