So I’ve been working on a CPC Limit set design for quite some time now (close to a year) and looking to place the order this week!

At this point, I’m locked into the spot progression, but I’m torn between these two inspirations. The top set is inspired by the Aria $1 and my favorite chip, the Le Cove $20. The bottom set is inspired by Lakeshore Inn. Le Cove and Lakeshore are hands down my favorite Paulson sets. I’m leaning towards one over the other, but curious which you like better.

Lakeshore $1 and Le Cove $20 FTW!
I thought about that combo... Tge reason I like the top combo though is that all 6 major colors on the color wheel are represented. Purple, red, orange, yellow, green, blue.

Going with the Lakeshore $1 and Le Cove $20 gives me 2 shades of orange and no green. Wasn’t sure if it was balanced enough? But it does look good.

I’ll post a mock-up of it in a bit.

As an FYI, I'm thinking imperial blue is probably closer to the Lakeshore $1 base color.
Really? What is the base on that? I’ve compared dg peacock to the AS $1s and my scandia $1s and it looks fairly close (for cpc anyway). I’ve never seen the lakeshores in person though, and I know you’ve get plenty to look at ;)

Though to be fair I’m also unsure of the base colours on those two chips.

Paging @ovo and @BGinGA lol

Ya it's pretty close to CPCs imperial blue, but I don't know Paulson color names. I need to get myself a Paulson color sample set someday. I'm pretty sure it's a different blue than the AS and Scandia chips. I'll try to post a pic of them side by side when I get a chance. They're locked up right now though.

Edit: I changed my mind. I'm not sure what color the AS $1 is. It may be the same?

This!

And this! IMHO imperial blue works really well for this chip, the tone matches both the DG tiger and light blue perfectly. The $5k in my new custom set was based off the Lakeshore $1:

I have the Lakeshore $1 at home, if you'd like I can post a side-by-side comparison of the chips as well as a comparison with a DG peacock sample.

I don't have Lakeshores or Le coves to compare to Paulson colors, not sure which two chips you are wondering about. I forget what the AS dollar base is, @BGinGA

I was wondering about the AS $1 to be fair, I think I was wrongly assuming it was a similar colour to the lakeshore.

That just makes 'em skittles, not better. Sometimes less is more.

Too much color present can diminish everything, often taking three or four great individual chips and turning them into a so-so set when combined.

Not everybody on the team can be a star, but every position is an important component to the team's success.

Thanks. I’d like to take you up on that offer because now I’m curious. Because for me, the DG Peacock looks closer than Imperial. I do have to keep reminding myself too that I’m not after exact matches either. Just want it to look great at the end. DG arch yellow is not even close to the brightness of the Le Cove $20, but it still looks great.

Here are some ideas for a set I was seriously considering until I got the color samples and felt it was off. Lakeshore/jessie beck mix. Custom label jessie beck themed.

I've been thinking about this a lot while designing my set as well. I'd like to encorporate as many colors as possible but at the same time, most of my absolute favourite combos out there are from casinos that different denoms sometimes share the same colors, spots, or identical spot colors across the board.
My conclusion is that I'm going to try to use as many colors as I can, that I actually like. Unfortunately that leaves a couple colors from the spectrum completely out of the mix, but it means each chip looks absolutely awesome to me. As long as I'm not running into dirty stack issues I'm not worrying about it.
I built my set around my workhorse chips basically in order of $5, $1, $20, $100, and finally my frac that might never see the table. I used yellow for my frac in this case partly for the same reason you mentioned, to include more colors, maybe make the set look better across the board. But it's not my favorite frac I designed.
I'm sure you've thought of this but just don't want to see you order a set and then look at one chip always wishing you ordered the other version, as for me the longevity lives in actually liking each chip individually.

Alright, based on the feedback above, here are some variations... (might take 2 posts)

I prefer the inverse Lakeshore $20 and either of the Lakeshore $1s. Whichever blue you like better.

Interestingly, I think I like the DG Peacock Lakeshore $1 with the Le Cove $20 but the Imperial Lakeshore $1 with the inverse Lakeshore $20. Thoughts?

These might be my 3 leading contenders now.

But the DG Peacock also works with the inverse Lakeshore $20 as well. @Shaggy ’s photo above shows the Peacock might actually be closer to the real chip (?).
