>Senica [sic] Creek state park
Nice area. I used to drive right by the park a few times a year as a shortcut to work if I wanted to stay off the highway and avoid traffic on 270.
Local music trivia: That's the stretch of road where Bill Danoff (of Starland Vocal Band fame) was inspired to pull his car over and write "Take Me Home Country Roads".

Also -- in a previous life -- my old neighborhood... :cool

That's cool. I always like learning about those small, interesting details. That area has grown a lot, as has the entire DC metro area.
I lived in DC and used to go fishing on the river up around Frederick and even that far out is now its all shopping malls, B&Bs and suburbs.
Gaithersburg. Rockville and Germantown are all high tech and other types of companies.

Looking to purchase a rod and reel for my father for bass fishing. I know nothing about spin gear, I do 100% fly fishing. Looking for something that can throw smaller jerkbaits, like a 1/8-3/16 oz. rapala minnow, as well as some 3/8 oz. poppers. Came across a Dobyns 704CB, which looks like it may be a good match, but I’m totally clueless on the reel. Any suggestions?

This is my first, non Walmart $30 rod and reel combo purchase lol. I have been mostly cat fishing off my dock and I’m trying to get into striper fishing (no not stripper fishing, sorry :) )

Looks like it hard to go wrong with Penn or Abu Garcia reels. I’m sure there are more higher end ones but I’m learning also. I hear good things about the Penn Fierce II reel and it’s pretty economical also.

Others here might be better suited to answer but it’s awesome to hear you are doing this for your father!

This is the current catfish record off my dock. 35-40 pounder

I am not really into antique stuff but i found this amazing and picked it up straight. It's massive and extremely heavy (50+ lbs), but a fine piece of engineering

You should ask @WedgeRock what kind of reel and rod he prefers...or @mike32......but be warned, if Wedge doesn't like the combo, he will simply throw it overboard....

If your plan is to use that to call the Paulson company in the 1950s back when they sold to the home market and order chips I don't think that is how time travel works but I support your cause 100%

I'm a white nerd so I was super worried how they would look on me. I do a really small curved brim to not ruin the hat but also not look ridiculous and it works for me. It helps that I am wearing goofy hats as opposed to "cool" ones.

I buy a lot of the hats from their official team websites so the good news is at least I am supporting the Minor League teams and not just the scummy company.

Unfortunately they probably did a limited run since the theme night was supposed to be in June but the season was canceled this year. Only the smaller sizes left and they didn't do a snapback version. Luckily I am a 7 1/4 which is one of the most common sizes and usually in stock. Hopefully they will push the promotion to next year and restock. I am yet to see a hat I want that wasn't available but then restocked anywhere. I am guessing most teams are hurting right now to sell merch. The official site is your best bet.

Here is my full collection so far after about 5 months. It been a fun replacement hobby for me as opposed to chipping. At least when I get drunk and look at hats I end up paying $60-70 for two hats I will actually wear and enjoy as opposed to a few casino sample sets I will put in a drawer or a $300 tournament set I will never use and try and resell.

My three favorites are the Trash City Pandas, Vermont Lake Monsters, and Norwich Sea Unicorns (two versions). The Albuquerque Isotopes always gets the biggest reaction though since most people know the team because of the Simpsons.

I can't explain the stoner Iguana wearing a straw hat. Please don't ask me to.

Also the one on the bottom right is an alternate hat of the Reading Fightin Phils who maybe has the greatest official logo in all of sports.

On this forum, how are you not sporting this one?

Right on! Our media room has been a savior this year. Enjoy!
I had a 40% off card from my UMC-1 I bought last decade. Emotiva decided to expire it at the end of the year. I get Atmos and balanced outputs plus 16 channels instead of 7. We’ll see if speaker purchases out weigh chips in 2021! Currently doing 5.1.
