Since 2010 my favourite chips... so these deserve their own topic
The casino
President Casino Laclede's Landing was a stationary riverboat casino in Saint Louis, Missouri owned by Pinnacle Entertainment.
The casino was part of Pinnacle's two-casino Lumiere Place complex at Lanclede's Landing (although Pinnacle in 2008 was reported to be considering moving it north to the Chain of Rocks Bridge). The President is the current name for the SS Admiral which was the largest inland waterway passenger steamer when the railroad barge transport Albatross (built in 1907) was converted in 1937 to passenger service.
From 1937 to 1993 was used for excursions on the Mississippi and was docked in front of the Gateway Arch. In 1993 President Casinos bought the ship to convert it to be one of the original four riverboat casinos to open in Missouri after riverboat gambling was made legal. When it was converted it was moved north of Eads Bridge. Presidents declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2002.
In 2006 it was acquired by Pinnacle. The 73,500 sq ft (6,830 m2) casino featured 756 slots and twenty table games and was owned and operated by Pinnacle Entertainment. On June 24, 2010 the President Casino closed for good. After an attempt to auction the boat failed, St. Louis Marine decided to scrap the vessel (july 2011) RIP PCA....
