High Hand
Hi gang. I've actually been posting a bit over the last couple of weeks and realized I've not checked in and introduced myself. I'm more or less the only poker player in my friend/family/co-worker circle, and have been toying with the idea of starting a home game. I'm dad to four teenagers (actually, one just aged out by turning 20) so getting out of the house is a top priority for me. Just kidding, I love all my kids (no, not kidding, seriously, get me the hell out of this house!).
I live in North Carolina, home to only one casino poker room in Harrah's Cherokee, which is about 3.5 hours away from me. Not exactly an easy day trip. I get to play in Columbus, OH a couple of times a year, and have been to Vegas for work and on vacation a few times. Most recently I was in Vegas the week of June 18th and got to hang out in the Rio and watch some WSOP action, and played in some limit games at the Flamingo and South Point.
The weekend of August 3rd I'm headed to Harrah's Cherokee for a couple's getaway, which also happens to be the first weekend of the first WSOP Circuit tournaments. Fun!
There are some other North Carolinian's on the forum I see, and Raleigh and Charlotte are only about 1.5 hours from me (in opposite directions). I'm definitely on the lookout for a regular home game seat, tournaments, meetups, whatever, so drop me a line if you have a open seat.
You guys have a great community here, thanks for letting me hang around.
