For you fellow button nits out there --- Enjoy! :p:sneaky::D

More data... following is a photo of a generic button that came free with a cheap aluminum case on the left, and the dealer button I bought at Paul-Son Casino Supply in Atlantic City circa 1991 on the right:

The "real" button kinda looks like the text was routed out from a flat blank using a template. Your newer button, from Unique, appears to be made on newer machinery or with a slightly different template, but still looks routed, based on things like the way the center stroke of the E protrudes slightly to the left of the vertical stroke in the E. The font is slightly different (note, for example, the roundness of the D), but the material/process is the same - flat, shiny acrylic, slightly larger than the generics, with sharp edges and flat sides.

Also, just getting more data out there... these are the Missed Blind buttons I bought from Paulson, back then:

Wow... very cool post. Thank you for sharing this @Mental Nomad!

And for comparison here's a closeup of the 2.5" button I just got, which looks far more precisely machined than even the 2" buttons I got from Unique...

FWIW, the inner black 'dealer' text is a matte paint on these 2.5" buttons vs. the glossy black on the 2" version.

Well now I want one! Are these still for sale, or is there anyone wanting to sell one to me?

Thank you!

I read this thread and now it's another thing I want. I just ordered Matsui chips, so I emailed Roxana (Matsui Rep) about dealer buttons. She said it's the same buttons that they sell to the casinos. I just got them this morning.

I was looking for the large ones last week or so, and they are out of stock.

Alternative thread title: "It's Hard Out Here for a Nit"

First, some backstory... For those who do not know, I have always been on a bit of a nitty/OCD quest for what I call "real casino dealer buttons." Now, I know you can get generic buttons on eBay and Amazon that look very very similar, but to me, they just aren't the same thing. There are even some sellers that use a graphic of a "real" casino dealer button, but then ship you the same generic crap you get everywhere else. I've even dabbled in some custom-ceramic buttons, and gotten in on some of the Group Buys for them here, but they never satisfied my hankerin' for the "real deal."

I've just always wanted the acrylic casino buttons... you know, the ones with the deep engraving, with sharp edges that stand on end, and with that glorious shiny surface. But after years of ordering junk buttons, I'd basically given up on my quest. That was until some one discovered Unique Enterprises as a source for Paulson-type racks (and other casino supplies).

On a whim I called Bob at Unique last week, mentioned that I was part of the PCF "chip rack crew," and that I had a new request... "casino dealer buttons." He wasn't sure they had the exact product I was looking for, but said, "our dealer buttons are what we provide to all of our casino customers, so it might be worth a try." I decided to gamble on the order, and took a solid stock of 12 buttons.

The buttons arrived this week, and lo and behold, they are exactly what I was looking for.

Feast your eyes!!!
